Can not set top-of-form position. Instructions are followed as in guide, "Hold pause, adjust with the micro-adjust, pause again to save." And It is still not dropping the paper down from the tear off point tp print at the top of the page. It just starts printing at the tear off which is right in the missle of the page.

We had a power failure and now our Lexmark 2391 dot matrix printer will not print from the top of the page. i need to know how to setup/reconfigure the top of the page? thank you

  1. Push the ALT button and then the PARK LOAD button to back the paper out.
  2. Push the PARK LOAD button to reload the paper. The Ready light should now be blinking.
  3. Use the MICRO up or down buttons to adjust as needed, making sure that the top of form is set on the very first page that enters the printer. Typically, the top edge of the first sheet of paper should be even with the ribbon.
  4. When the page is lined up properly, press the START/STOP button. The printer will record the current position as the top of form and then feed paper to the tear off position.
  5. Use the MICRO up and down buttons to place the top of the paper at the tear off bar.
  6. After the tear off is positioned properly, press the START/STOP button twice to save the tear off position.
  7. Test the positions with a sample print job. If the alignment is still off, follow this entire procedure from the beginning again as needed.

There is no easy way. You need to adjust starting position for every form. There is fine feed function and Top Of Form setting procedure, so you can adjust the minimum space between top of porm and first printed string (user's guide explains in details how to do it). But after that you need to decide whether you manually set the start position by rotating the knob or play with your application to adjust margins etc.

No puedo configurar el top form de la impresora

1. Make sure the printer is turned on and the desired tractor is selected (the corresponding tractor arrow should be lit).
2. Open the upper cover.
3. Press the Top of Form button to enter top-of-form mode. The printer beeps once, and the Top of Form light turns on.
4. Use the Micro Feed buttons to feed the paper to the desired top-of-form position. The “A” on the ribbon protector shows you where the bottom edge of your first line of text will print. This position is based on the first printable line of text. If your software inserts a top margin of five lines, your text will actually print five lines below the top-of-form position.
5. Press the Top of Form button again to exit and save your new top-of-form position. Then close the top cover.
