You probably need a door lock mechanism. If you remove the rear panel and locate the lock mechanism (about middle of back) and HELP the gear turn a little it may finish it's unlock cycle. If not just keep turning the gear till the door unlocks.

SOURCE: oven door cannot unlock

I know this response is a bit dated, but I just had the same problem. I removed the back panel. There is a little motor that turns the locking mechanism. I removed that and there is a button on a sensor next to the motor. I turned off the power first, since 220 can kill. Then when everything was sorted out, i turned the power back on, hit the switch on the sensor and everything is back to normal. I also made sure that the lock in front was back at 12 o'clock (the L shaped piece at the top of the door, but on the stove),. It worked for us. Good luck.

Kenmore stove the oven wont come on it says dr

The DR error can mean that the door lock is enabled (or the oven believes it is). If the oven door was open and the Clean button was pressed, this can happen. Try pressing Cancel with the door closed. If the door is open, press the oven light button in and press Cancel. Try unplugging the oven (or flipping the circuit breaker to off) for a few minutes to reset the error.

If these don't help and the oven is not locked, then the control unit probably needs to be replaced. If you add a comment with the model of the oven, I may be able to direct you to the parts.

If your oven is still under warranty, contact Kenmore. I hope this helps.

Frigidaire stuck in DR mode

Good Morning ShawnR, thank you for your post!

An error code DR commonly refers to a door lock malfunction. I understand you have reprogrammed the range by unplugging it. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn your range back on. Typically, this will clear most false error codes. If the error code continues to display, your range could possibly have a faulty door latch, light switch or EOC (electronic oven control). I am fairly confident that an authorized service agent will be able to restore your appliance to its normal operating condition. You can often locate a qualified service technician on the manufacturer website.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to assist you!

Range elec #fef352awf oven will not work digidal code comes up Dr?

Hello Mike, an error code DR commonly refers to a door lock malfunction. Try reprogramming the range by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the unit on. Typically, this will clear most false error codes. If the error code continues to display, the range could possibly have a faulty door latch, light switch or EOC (electronic oven control). I would strongly recommend contacting a professional to get the appropriate diagnosis prior to make any unnecessary part replacements. I hope this information proves to be helpful.

Fault code Close door (S) keeps coming and oven won't start

The oven is telling you that the secondary switch is not working. Either the switch is broken or the door or switches are out of alignment. the switches cost about 4 dollars. Not an expensive repair by any means.

Hi, The door of the oven of my kenmore cooker locked itself and the code 'F9' flashes alternatively with the code 'dr' can you please give me some help to fix this issue? Thanks

Hi, the F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.

Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.

Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.

This is a Door lock malfunction. you will need to replace the door lock mechanism. it is faulty.

The lock switch is on and door is open-"dr" then "f9" message

Unplug the range and then have someone hold in the door/light button while plugging in the unit again. The locking mechanism should reset itself. Let me know if I can help further.
