I have a sony handycam dcr-dvd650 when I go to record there is a blinking yellow circle with a light through it on a the lcd screen when I go back onto the disc its showing me and letting me play what i just recorded

The
error message that you are seeing requires that you to take the camera
in for service, since a failure has occurred that the owner cannot fix
themselves:
A
malfunction that you cannot service has occurred. Contact your Sony
dealer or local authorized Sony service facility. Inform them of the
5-digit code, which starts from E
did you happen to drop the cam? there could be a technical error with the LCD screen. take it to the nearest Sony service center and have them take a look at it. you can try resetting the cam and see if it changes anything.
is it able to record audio? are you able to see the indicators on the lcd screen? are you able to playback previous tapes with recording...if you say yes to all of the questions, there is no doubt that you dont have an issue with the lcd screen. the issue that your having is with the ccd imaging sensor. sony has a recall program for this specific model yrs back, unfortunately its already been discontinued and if you send it to them,it will be treated as an out-of-warranty repair.
Lens cover error message comes when its not opend. There is a switch inside Front Cover (where lens and mic mounted) got bad contact. Open that Front cover and unscrew the circuit board, put 1 drop of W-40 cleaner oil and fix back all things.
sounds like the LCD screen viewfinder may have been twisted or accidentally catched or got hooked or snagged on on something at one stage and pulled something, if the screen went yellow it means the three wires going to it are possibly broken or the small white clip was slowly coming undone inside the Viewfinder for the red and green to no longer work to complete the image also indicates why the buttons on the viewfinder are not responding, try twisting the viewfinder very lightly whilst on, but most likely the small white clip holding the wires has come off at the elbow inside the camera
