Hello! I've been using my Compaq Presario (M2223AP) Laptop for 2 years now, then all of a sudden I saw 2 vertical lines on the screen. 1 line is a clear red line (but not so thick & dark) located about 1/3 from the left of the screen while the other is a very faint (thin, almost transparent) line located about 1/5 from the right of the screen. I think it might be a monitor problem. I'm not very good in fixing computers so I have not done anything about it yet. I'd appreciate your help very much. Thanks! I have a Toshiba Satellite and the whole right side of my screen is all vertical, colorful lines. Can this be fixed? Thanks. We have 2 vertical lines on our Toshiba Satellite P105 that is a little over a year old at fist I only had a few on the sides of the screen... and then some would flicker and then go away ... but now they have become permanent and have multiplied over the last 2 wks... 4wks since purchasing my used Toshiba Qosmio G15....I have now 4 vertical lines going across my screen display.... Why do they keep popping up? How do I fix it? Please tell me I can fix it!!!
My understanding is that you have 2 laptops with the same problem, if that is the case, you need to replace the lcd. When you have lines on lcd's, that is a sign of a bad lcd.
