Try headphones in the same socket or outlet.. Move the speakers or headphones to a different device (pc or TV set) for testing.. Make sure the speakers or headphones are plugged into the correct outlets.. Make sure the volume on the speakers or headphones is turned up.. If you are running windows XP (or whatever) go to control panel & then 'Sounds & Audio devices' then select sounds tab (at top) then select 'critical stop' then try the 'play sound' arrow at the bottom middle of the window.. if it runs, then the operating system is probably ok..
Pls report the results of the above for further help.. If you need further assistance, pls provide the operating system you are using and the brand & model of pc.. also if you are using speakers or headphones.. Rgds,
Check the control panel and see what your default sound device is set for.
Do you have a third party sound card like a sound blaster plugged into here?
