I have an old optimus karaoke player (C.D & dual cassette, model 32-1163, bought " 2nd hand".It was in disuse for a few years. After bringing it home, and cleaning it externally, I switched it on and it started working, but with a "motor-boat" sound. After some time, I switched it off and after a few hours, when I put it on, it refused to work.! The tape revolves ok.But nothing else! Could you please advise.I wish to get a copy of its circuit diagram & service manual.Thanking You, P.C.Cheryan.(INDIA)

check to see if there are any speaker wires that are touching each other near the connections. i had this happen on an onkyo receiver and found it was a purposeful feature intended to keep you from shorting out the receiver. if the + and - speaker wires touch (at the receiver posts or the speaker posts) this can happen.

SOURCE: Cassette deck not working

Hi, with the lid off operate the unit and see if drive still gets from the motor to capstan flywheel. Sometimes even although belts look ok, the have a buildup on the drive surfaces that will prevent it from applying enough tractive effort to the flywheel to engage the rolling mechanism. most of the hard work in ooperating the transport occurs when you select a function as the transport engages cam gears and followers to provide mechanical movement to engage the operation you have selected. You can fix this by cleaning the belt by running it across a cotton bud dipped in solvent (i use acetone, or iso alchohol),but replacing the belt is generally a longer term solution. If you need more advice then hitme back... happy to help

If the unit ends up in the middle of a cycle, the front panel will appear to be unusable. With a unit that has been idle for a long time, the belts and motors may be a little sluggish. This unit needs a general overhaul and the belts replaced. This should not be a major expense. Figure about $10 in belts and your ocal labor charge for the repair. If I remember correctly, this unit uses both a flat and square belt.

I need help my machine is making a scratching noise when I put a CD in. And it will spin the CD for a few seconds and stops. It never readsvthecd or plays anything.

Hi, although you have cleaned the laser with a cd cleaner this may not have done any thing, if you can see the lens then get a bit of vodka on a cotton bud and gently roll it and move it in one swoop, do a few more times, it sounds like a cleaning or worse a lazy laser, if you got it 2nd hand then it could be either but first try cleaning with vodka if you can't get to the laser then see if you can take it out easy, the laser could be cheap enough to buy look on the back and get the model number search on flea-bay, oops, ebay for the model number followed buy laser, hope this helps try the cleaning first thou.

I need a operator manual for a lonestar sk-104 karaoke manchine

I have the same one. and I have had another model also.they are almost the same.If I am correct it is a cassette karaoke player. They take a special cassette that says lonestar super K.these players and tapes were from the 1992-1994.when you hook to the tv, the tv needs to be on channel 3 or 4.the back of the machine should have a switch with 3 &4.make sure both are on the same.on newer tv you may have to figure out the input & output.some say video some say line 1 line 2 etc.my machine uses a cable cord from tv to machine.any tape will play in them ,but only the special ones will put words on the tv. if you use the special tape when you put it in the machine only one side plays.it tells you on the tape.also only one side of the duel cassette compartment will put words on screen.my sk104 is side B.Hope this helps.if you still cant get on screen words,it could be that part of the machine just doesn't work anymore.that is what happened to my other one.
