The standby light should be flashing in a sequence of a number of flashes followed by a pause then another sequence...
Please post that count here as that is a diagnostic code to indicate the circuit that has the problem. The set goes into shutdown flashing this code to prevent further damage to the set.
Once the code is posted, I can provide you the circuit and probable failing parts.

The TV circuit may have detected a problem within its parts. You may have to check some leaking capacitors in the board or loose solders or burned components just to make sure. Normally leaving the TV unplugged overnight should reset it.
I had the same problem with Sony KV-32fs120 with 9 blinks. Replaced D645 and D647 on main board with 1.5A1KV diodes from Radio Shack which did the trick.
