Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded over.

The picture is a little distorted. Any numbers such as the channel or letters show up double and in two different colors.

There are two ways to do this
1) go into you menu and there should be a opportunity to align your color guns,
I found red was the outside square. Mine didn't fit right.
green/blue were crosshairs/
If done right the green/blue should merge and the red should fit your screen if they do not do that, then you need a service guy who knows how to physically adjust them.
I call in a guy and they are very reasonble. and what a difference

Double image/ out of focus with green and blue seperation

Your tv is crt-based and is out of convergence. In other words, the settings for keeping the Red, Green and Blue images aligned have drifted and must be reset. This is common with CRT projectors and CRT rear projection tvs.

Refer to your owners manual for instructions on re-aligning it.

Has a shadow on picture. Red, Green is not alligned

You need to set your convergence. Check your owner's manual on how to do it. I'm not sure the exact procedure on that model, but usually you can find it in the setup menu of the tv. What you're trying to do is line the red and the blue up perfectly with the green so that they all blend together to give you one picture.

Jvc tv picture quality

sounds like your crt tubes...meaning Red, Green and Blue are out of alignment...or possibly 1 of the crt's is burned out.

Picture is yellow and green

Your missing the red drive on the set. Its most likly the picture tube. Its a possibility that the red drive circuit could be not working so the best thing to do is take off the gree picture tube socket and put the green board on the red tube. Of course do all this when the set is unplugged. if you have no tv experience. its not a good idea to be messing around inside of these sets.
