Hi, p[lease follow these instruction religously::

  1. Insert a blank recordable DVD into your DVD burner.
  2. Use Photo Story 3 for Windows to create the story you want. On the Save your story page, you will have options "Save your story for playback on your computer", "Send the story in an e-mail message" and etc. If you scroll down to the last option listed, it will say "Save your story to a DVD for playback on your home DVD player". That is the option you need to choose to burn the slideshow on DVD. Click Next to temporarily save the photo story.
  3. On the Completing Photo Story for Windows page, click Continue and save your story to a DVD for playback on your home DVD player.
  4. In the Create a DVD dialog box, put in the DVD Title and Video Title as well as choose the DVD burner you desired if you have more than one DVD burner installed. Click Create DVD to start the buring process.

Please note: Sonic DVD for Photo Story 3 can only burn DVDs. It does not burn CDs. Also, only one story can be burned on each DVD.

My lenovo ideapad will not let me play dvds why is tht

Hokay, first we need to know what makes you think that it "won't let you play". Tell us what the symptoms are and everything about the DVD, your computer model, its DVD player and your software.

IE Commercial vs home-made DVD, region, software you are using to play the DVD (VLC Media Player, of course), any error messages, HOW you are going about "making it play" etc.

All we can tell from your description above is that you might be placing it in a CD tray and yelling at the computer.

My home theater system plays cds but will not play dvds, what can I do to fix it, makes a scratching noise when i put dvds in it, but plays fine with a cd.

There is something wrong with the DVD drive assembly inside. If you're brave, take it apart and check on what is making the noise. Also, try using a q-tip to clean the laser head if it's accessible.

If that doesn't help, it's time for a new DVD player.

This is why I always recommend people buy a home theater system without a DVD player built in. The DVD player is the weakest link, and stand alone DVD players can be purchased for as little as $25 depending on if you want upconversion or not.

If you cannot get the DVD player working in your surround system, just replace it with a stand alone DVD player, if you can, check to make sure there are audio inputs on the back of the receiver. If there are no audio inputs on the receiver, you will have to get the entire surround system replaced. If so, purchase a separate DVD player and surround system.
