Use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard instead of the Belkin software. It's pretty straight forward in the steps for moving files to "new" computer.

From the windows 7 computer, Start, Accessories,System Tools, Windows Easy Transfer. Follow the onscreen instruction. Note both system must be on the same network.
One of the most common problems is the computer's operating system not recognizing the cable's drivers. This is most common with non-English operating systems. The quickest solution is to download the most recent driver. If the Easy Transfer Cable isn't working properly, you can try a few things to fix the problem. Make sure that you have installed the Easy Transfer Cable drivers on your old computer with the CD that is included in the cable package. If you did not do this, close Windows Easy Transfer, insert the CD that came with the Easy Transfer Cable into your old computer, and then follow the instructions on the screen. When this is complete, begin the transfer process again. USB ports might be another cause of the problem. When Windows Easy Transfer asks you to connect your computers with the Easy Transfer Cable, try plugging the cable into other USB ports on your computers. A more complex problem involves the F5U409 USB PDA Adapter (The USB/Serial Portable Adapter)not installing properly. If the driver is unzipping, but the unit is not working, you need to manually update the drivers. They should all unzip to a file called F5U109 in the C: drive of your computer. Point to this file through the Device Manager to update. Hope it helps.
Unfortunately, Windows Easy Transfer is not supported on Windows 2000. So I would suggest you to return this cable back and use the manual method of transfer of data from one computer to another. Thanks. Abhishek
Please note that your cable will support below givne O/S check at your end.
One destination PC running Windows 7 (32- or 64-bit) and available USB port
One source PC running Windows® XP (32- or 64-bit) or Windows Vista® (32- or 64-bit) and available USB port
For Example two Pcs 1 is Xp and other pcs is Windows 7, then try to connect between both .
Another one more option is there for transfering the data between two systems either laptop or Desktop by a cross cable (LAN CABLE), buy a cross cable from shop and insert into RJ45 Socket (i.e lan socket) the try to transfer the datas.
