Hello
You just replace the capacitor fitted very near to the horizontal output transistor,[freewheeling capacitor], there may be one or two of them, whcih comes to a value of 3900pf to 6700pf 2000V or so. It is connected to the negative rail and the collector of the horizontal output transitor. If it gets opened, or its value gets reduced, this fault will occur. If so the transistor you replace will get shorted as you swich on the power to TV.
The second one is deflection yoke short. If so the transistor said above will overheat within seconds. Even a single winding inside the horizontal deflection yoke shors, it puts a tremendous load to flyback transformer, which in turn effects the transistor.
After replacing the above said capacitor, you do one thing to make sure about whether there is a short inside the yoke or not. It cannot be measured by normal methods. Fore that, unplug the base card from picture tube and place it somewhere near without getting any of its contacts to other parts inside your TV. This time only the EHT chord will be connected to picture tube. Unplug the horizontal yoke connection from main board. Switch on the tv, and wait for some time, say at about 10 seconds, and check whether the transistor gets overheated or not If it does overheats now also, the winding or EHT retifier diodes inside your flyback transformer has some trouble, and it should be replaced with same type and number. If it does not overheats now, the deflection yoke's winding have some short in it. Ok.
NB: Never connect the TV with base card is in postion while deflection yoke connection is isolated. keep it unpluged.

I replce a horozontal output transistor, after few minutes of working it shuts down and the transistor is shoted again, what could be the poosible cause.iti s 24inc samsung crt tv.

1.First check the synchronisation signal (horizontal)if not present this will cause the transistor to heat for this u have to use a scope
2.See if the line transformer is not short internally
3. Check the voltage at the collecter it should give 130v max if its higher the power supply is the cause

What's the cause I already install three horizontal output of Samsung TV model number CT-15N30MJ always busted horizontal transistor?

Check the capacitor connected to the collector of the horizontal output transistor to ground for loose solder or open. Replace that freewheeling capacitor [ usually comes between 3900Pf to 9600Pf 2000V]. Replace it with an other one of same capacitance value; before proceed. Even if it blows out the horizontal output transistor; entire circuit should be checked. Check the deflection coil too for shorted winding.

What is the cause

This is a common fault that everybody feels, when replacing the horizontal output transistor for Samsung CRT TVs. Samsung has provided no heat sink to this transistor, and generally, it wont't heat up abnormally. You should use the exact number of this transistor when replacing it. We can't get it from open market. Only authorized service center for Samsung can supply us its exact replacement. No more experiments should be done further, with any other number horizontal transistor. All of it work for a while, and will get shorted.

What is cost of yoke for panasonic ct tv?

You're discussing about the width problem to picture. If yoke have a short in between its wingdings [even a single winding short], will cause the failure of horizontal output transistor. As per you report here, the set has a raster, but problem is with the picture width.
There possibliliites for this fault are.
1. Lack of voltage from the SMPS power supply output.
2. Horizontal width capacitor.
3. Horizontal output capacitor.
Check the output voltage from the SMPS section first, and confirm that it is OK.

HOT transistor TT 2222burn after second replace. TV Samsung Model CS-21Z45MJ

Hello
Before replacing an other one, replace the freewheeling capacitor, the capcitor fitted between the collector of the 2222 and earth; usually of a value of 3500pf 2000VDC, some times this value may differ from set to set. If this capacitor has opened of developed in value, the result will be the failure of the horizontal output transistor, at switch ON itself. The second reason is the short in horizontal yoke windings. Even one winding get shorted, it will cause to a heavy load flyback transormer which in turn to 2222 failure. The last reason for this fault is defective Line Output Transformer itsef. Check these three.
Before proceeding, desolder out the horizontal output transistor 2222 fro circuit, and measure the frequency at the collector point of horizontal driver transistor. It should be around 15625HZ [may differ a little], with no signal. If this frequency is found higher than normal, The main IC jungle should be suspected.
Anyway, go forward after checking this frequency. OK.

My panasonic ct-32g6 has a horizontal line through the middle i can hear the sound but all that comes on the screen is the horizontal line.what is the problem?

The fact that there is a horizontal line on the screen tells you that all circuits are in operation except the vertical circuit , The virtical IC is probaly shorted or the reisitor that supplies voltage for the fly back is open in addition the negative feerback from the signal processor IC can be open also which can cause a horizantal line .You will have to check all dose circuits to seewhat is causing the line

The high-pitch squeal is from the power supply, caused by a short circuit. The usual cause is a shorted horizontal output transistor. I believe this model uses a 2SD1556, but I'm not certain. I don't have the service manual for this model, but that part is used in several other 32- and 36-inch models.

While the horizontal output can fail on its own, it's usually because of other problems. A large-tube TV like this is hard to work on, and you might want to let a professional technician check it and give an estimate for the repair.

  • following the horizontal drive pulse path and arriving to the horizontal area just after the horizontal transformer and in the base of the horizontal DRIVER there is a electrolytic capacitor (if this chassis uses this one,) Change it (maybe is dry)
  • solder all components i just told you in the last step. horizontal driver, transformer, etc

  • if a transistor is blowing with no reason (there is a reason: the collector receives 130 volts but cannot hold it forever, It has to be in some place. if the switching pulse doesn't arrive to it the transistor throws this 130 volts and burning itself. i hope it is help full.

TV - worth fixing or pitch?

Horizontal output and regulator transistor often short out on this model causing a dead condition. Also the resistor right next to the regulators goes open as well. Electronix.com has a sony repair kit to fix the power supply. You just have to check the numbers on your Horizontal output transistor to make sure you get the right kit for your model.
