In the headstrap is a plastic 'key' that you use to remove the battery cover (opposite side of the headlamp from the switch). Once you remove the cover, you can shake the headlamp to let the battery cartridge slide out of the headlamp.
Pay close attention to which way the batteries go in--if you put a battery in the wrong way you can easily bend the springs inside!

LOST BOTTOM OF MY COLEMAN MAX LED LANTERN 4345-701 WHERE CAN I BUY THAT REPLACEMENT PART. ALSO, SOME WEBSITES SAY IT TAKES ONE BIG BATTERY... OTHERS SAY IT TAKES 8 d BATTERIES. HELP !

As far as the missing part, you can probably go to the manufacturers site and find one. You may find it on E-Bay. The one large vs 8 D cells is an easy one. I have lights that use either. Some lights come with an extra part that looks like a large battery but is actually a holder for 8 d cells that will replace the large battery.

Replace batteries

Marcia Boal... hello,

If our battery has corroded it may be impossible to get the end (opposite the light) cap to come off. The light is designed to be moisture resistant... Likewise even penetrating oil cannot get in...

To guarantee long reliable service it is best to put a tiny dot of grease on the threads on assembly.

Maglite Solitaire makes a wonderful little flashlight...
(all metal construction... single AAA battery)...
((Mini = 2 AAA batteries... opens the same)).

Basic colors included black, red, silver & blue
but this particular light was also quite popular for commercialization... often displaying many BIG NAME
COMPANY LOGOs.

The initial closure of the end cap can be quite loose to be effective because of it's O-ring design... however some folks put the end cap on too tight...

The

It might take some serious force to get it open again.

Consider using a piece of leather in a pair of pliers to avoid marring the case. Reassemble without over-tightening.

Hope this helps!

I JUST bought the coleman mini led headlamp and i don't know how the batteries are supposed to go in. the back will not open and there were NO instructions.

TO INSTALL OR REPLACE BATTERIES

1. Rotate body of headlamp until lights are pointing down and battery cover tab is to the front.
2. Insert edge of buckle on headband or a coin under tab and twist to unlock and remove battery cover.
3. Install 3 "AAA" cell batteries in the correct orientation as shown on the battery housing. Make certain all 3 batteries are installed
correctly.
4. Replace battery cover by first inserting the tabs on the back of the battery cover under the back edge of the battery housing, and
then rotate down until battery cover snaps into locked position.

I can't seem to get the "small" screws off to put the batteries in!! Please Help!! Thanks:)

You don't remove the screws!!! Use the plastic 'key' that is in the headstrap to remove the cover (opposite side of the headlamp from the switch). Then shake the headlamp to allow the battery cartridge to slide out.

How do you install the batteries

If it is the same as the Coleman headlamp I just bought, it claims to have a "easy slide out battery cartridge" On the strap there is a plastic key to unscrew the lid where the batteries are but this doesn't allow you to access them. When you bang the entire thing in your hand to make the cartridge slide out it may not come at first because it is stuck. I partially unscrewed one of the tiny screws on the top of the battery cartridge and pulled on it. This caused it to slide out of the headlamp and I could load it with batteries. I then rescrewed it in gently as its kind of fragile. After this I could get the cartridge in and out by simply tapping the light in my hand with the lid off. The light works great now. Since the screwdriver is so tiny that you need to do this, see if you have a eye-glass repair kit lying around. It may have the size you need.

I bought a motorola Talkabout, a set of three, and only got 2 batteries.

I put three AAA bateries in it! I still think you should include batteries when you sell a product with rechargeable batteries that you can't buy anywhere!!!! So I wont be able to recharge the regular AAA batteries. Yeah I am still burning over the problem.!!!
