The best advice for you is to go to a repair shop to replace the watch battery. They have professional tools to remove the cover.

If you want to open it yourself, it depends on how the cover is designed. Some are knobs that you can unscrew, and some are snaps. You can use a thin blade to open the edge gap, and then slowly open it, being careful not to scratch the cover.

Mcdevito75 here, Battery usually lasts 1 year and longer, even if you did change the battery yourself now, you"d forget for a year or even longer next time battery needeed to be changed, I know I did. Add to this you can easily destroy your watch with in-correct handleing. BEST BET, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for this battery change $10--$15.00 and peace of mind.

Bulovas are not high end luxury watches nowadays (they actually were, up to the mid-twentieth century). A modern quartz Bulova is just another mid to upper-mid level quartz wristwatch. Unless you know someone willing to spend some bucks just to have a gold and diamond watch, the value, especially with the price of gold now, may be in the metal, especially since it's 18K; the majority of gold watches are 10K or 14K. The diamonds are likely not very high quality, although they will be real. You should have a jeweler look at it. He will be able to give you an idea what the gold and the stones are worth. Unfortunately, as a watch, Bulovas just don't have much intrinsic resale value nowadays, not like a Rolex, Tag Heuer, Breitling, etc. would have.

First of all, unless it is stamped or it is in the manual, I cant tell you what size battery, nor can a watchmaker unless they take measurements of the watch area.
You have a nice watch. My BEST advice is to take to an authorized Geneve watch dealer or to send direct to them (contact them first).

How to replace battery in men's geneve 14k gold watch must remove crystal is it tricky?
It is not usual to remove the crystal of a watch the replace the battery. All other watches I have come across need the back to be removed.

I suggest you take your watch to your nearest watch shop and ask them to do it for you.

You can get into difficulty replacing batteries and it is not worth the risk for the small cost saving.

I have lost the back of a gold ladies geneve watch. can I get a replacement back? Gold case, white dial with black clear numbers , gold brick link type bracelet. 9ct.Quartz model.
Best bet here is to go to a dealer that carries that brand and seeing if they can order you a new caseback.
Or, you can look for the same model online or EBAY that is broken or in disrepair, then just scrap it for the caseback. (It is not always possible to find one, but i recommend trying as this is the least expensive way to obtain small parts).
