The Battery needs to be replaced, However replacing it will reset everything. All of your BIOS Settings, Time ect. However there is a rumor that i have only found to be true on few systems, if it is left plugged in your bios settings will not be lost. but... since your loosing time with it plugged in. Im thinking its gonna loose them no matter what.
1. following the indications of your motherboard documentation (recommended/best), if you need to find out details about your motherboard you can possibly download and use one of this tools to get info about your motherboard and possibly find the manual online in the manufacturer's website

It wont work, it will hang ur system. Ur motherboard supports but using Mutli-frequencies RAM is not possible, either u use SDRAM 512 BM PC133 or ur 64/128 PC100 RAM, You cant use all together.
