I have a LiftMaster garage door opener. When the door closes it is not completely closed on the right side. It has about a 1/4" gap at the bottom. It starts closing evenly but when it is about 2 feet from the floor it cocks a little to the left which appears to cause the gap. Is there an adjustment for this?

SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY NEED A SERVICE TECH.

IF THE CABLES ARE NOT RUNNING PROPERLY ON THE DRUMS IT WILL CAUSE THE PROBLEM YOU DESCRIBE. OR THE DOOR COULD BE CATCHING ON SOMETHING (DOOR JAB, TRIM ETC.) AS IT CLOSES.

I DON'T RECOMEND TRYING TO ADJUST THIS YOUSELF A PRO CAN DO IT IN ABOUT 10 MIN. IF YOU START MAKING ADJUSTMENT WOITHOUT KNOWING EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING YOU WILL PROBABLY JUST MAKE IT WORSE.

THE SERVICE CALL SHOULD BE $ 50.00 - $100.00

ALSO DON'T CALL A HANDYMAN ETC. ONLY A QUALIFIED DOOR REPAIR TECH.

HOPE THIS HELPS

I have a problem with the door monitor for my Craftsman 1/2 HP 315MHz garage door opener. I recently had my garage door changed and now the monitor indicates the door is open when it is closed and closed...

It sounds like the sensor on the top section of the door may be mounted upside down. If you can, remount it right side up, and see if that corrects if the problem. If not, contact me directly.

Garage door will close, stays shut for a few seconds and then opens on its own.

The opener is closing too far. On the side of the opener, you should see 2 white knobs, recessed into the side. Using a flat blade screw driver, adjust the close knob (closest to the door side of the opener), anti-clockwise until the door will close gently on the floor.

It sounds like a door spring problem. Here is a website with a video of adjusting a door with extension springs.

My Liftmaster GDO makes a clicking sound and won't open

See if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. If so remove the bolt and then run the opener until the door is closed. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' control which is on the side of the motor unit. Turn this control 2 complete turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Remember to replace the bolt.

Chamberlain 1265 garage door opener, tried to

On the side of the motor unit you will find the 'down limit control'. Using a small screwdriver turn this control in the same direction as the arrow printed on the cover. Some tweaking may be necessary to get it just right.

Automatic garage door

Hello,

There should be 2 sensors on the bottom of your door on the inside, 1 on the right side and 1 on the left side.
These sensors serve 1 purpose to send a beam or reflection to each other.
If something is blocking this reflection or is in front of the sensor the door will always come back up.
It is a safety feature so nothing or no one gets hurt when the door is closing!
