Might be a bad inlet valve. To confirm, swap the hot and cold hoses to your washer so that the cold water feeds the hot water connection and the hot water feeds the cold water connection. Turn off both hot and cold water faucets. Set the washer for a warm water wash. Turn on the cold water faucet, and check the flow. Then turn off the cold water faucet, and turn on the hot water faucet and check the flow. If the cold water flow fill slowly, then the problem is with the inlet valve.

It an easy part to obtain from an appliance supply house. To install disconnect the hoses to the back of the machine, and remove the back panel to get access to the valve. Should only take a couple of minutes to remove and install. Hope this helps you.

My top load washer takes very long to fill with good water pressure

Hi Miguel, I am happy to assist you!

I understand your washing machine is taking a long time to fill. Is the incoming water flow normal? If it is, does the fill water continue to enter your washer? If yes, disconnect power from your appliance. Did the water fill stop? If so, a service technician may need to check the pressure sensor or switch to determine if it needs replacement.

If your water flow is abnormal, double-check water faucets to ensure they are in the "on" position. If on, your incoming water pressure may be above 30 PSI and could need adjusting. Check for any kinked or blocked water hoses or clogged water screens. If you've cleared the water screen and/or unblocked any kinked water hoses, and the problem still persists, it could possibly be a water inlet valve assembly.

If you have checked all of the above, your washer may need a main control board replacement. I would recommend contacting a qualified service technician to further assist you in diagnosing this issue.

Hot water does not fill in the washer. The spicket has hot water.

There is an obstruction after the shut off to the hot water hose that feeds the washer. Shut off the hot water, disconnect the hot water hose from the washer, and hold the end in the washer tub. Open the hot water shut off. If now water comes out the problem is in the hose. Replace or clear obstruction. Make sure washer at hose end is in place before reconnecting to washer.

If how water flows, inspect the input hose connection to the washer. Some have a screen filter that my be clogged with sediment or other debris. Clean and try again.

If still no hot water, there is likely a problem with the hot water solenoid valve inside the washer itself. You'll have to remove and probably replace the valve or coil (or assembly).

I have a 1988 Hotpoint top-load washing machine, Model # WLW 3500B. The water supply on the hot side appears to be constricted with very little flow. I checked the screen in the water supply hose and there...

Hi Eric,
Have you taken off the hose for the hot water at the back of the washer and then run it into a bucket to make sure the flow was good there?
If you have great flow there then the problem is in the washer...
If not then it is in your plumbing...you will need to track that down and fix it...
If it is in the washer then you probably have a problem with the fill valve or solenoid valve that opens to let the water in...they can either stick or get dirt lodged in them...either way replacement is probably the best option...

If your washing machine will not fill, only hot or cold will fill or is slow to fill then read these tips. I have covered many of the things that can happen in these tips...

Kenmore washing machine 110.20922990 cold water filling slowly

Good day,
As far as cleaning the screen, you can pry it out and toss it. It may serve you for a while. The option, is to remove the valve completly, and clean it under running water with something like a stiff toothbrush.

Note: If the hot side is filling decently, then the cold water side of the valve is swelling internally, and the valve needs replaced.
In this area, the parts houses sell a GE universal water valve that is very good, and might be cheaper than the original. It's all I use.
Part # WH13X81.

HOT WATER WON'T FILL TUB

most inlet water hoses have screens in them.  You could remove the hose from the back of the washer and see if there is water flow.   If there isn't, the hot water valve assembly is defective.  These are solenoid operated valves that admit water into the tub.  They can be accessed behind the washer after you remove the back.

Kenmore Elite washing machine will not fill as fast as usual.

You will need to get behind the washer, turn the water off, disconnect the hose from the washer, look for a screen inside the water valve, hopefully there is one that you can clean if necessary. I always put the hose over in the washer and turn the water on to check the flow.

If the screens on both hot and cold are clear, water flow is good on both hot and cold, connect the water back to the washer. If the flow is still slow then the problem is inside the valve. The valve will have to be replaced.

Have model 88675 with slow hot water fill

I once had this problem. The solution was to remove the hot water hose connection to the washer and look at the filter/screen inserted into the end of the hose connection on the washer machine. This screen protects the washer components from foreign particles entering. You may find a badly-clogged screen, so clean it. I have seen a cold water screen clean, while the hot water screen was clogged...something to do with hot water and minerals or iron in water.
