Our 37"LCD television FLM-3738 IT MAKES A VERY LOUD NOISE AND THEN IT TURNS IT ON AND OFF LIKE A CLICKING
Mine started 6 months after I got the tv. Does anyone know if the mfg will replace?

It seems that the manufacturer of the Polaroid FLM-373b HDTV either used the wrong parts or there is a design problem. I found someone on the internet who said they replaced two capacitors on the power board and it started working just fine. I took the power board out of mine and sure enough the two caps with the 10v markings were swelled. I replaced them with two 25v caps and it is working just fine. All the other caps on the power board were 16v and above. So, I would assume they were shipped the wrong parts or they just put the wrong caps in to begin with. If you want to send me your power board I will fix it for $50.00 plus shipping.

Our TV was making that same loud clicking noise then a month later I went to turn it on and it never turned on. The blue light did, but that was it. Now I can't turn it off.
I have the same problem, my tv started by making a loud buzzing sound and now started by thing the clicking and a beep, I guess it doesn't have much time to live.
Yeah. By the looks of it, this tv is starting to do the same thing around the same time (based on postings). I got mine Feb 2008 and now in Aug 2008 it started making this loud beep (6 months). Funny thing is I don't even have the volume on the set, as our volume is coming from a Bose Surround System. But the beep is like a fire alarm going off.
Scares the heck out of me and my family. Does anyone know if the Mfg will take it back and replace?

I think we might have the same problem as everyone else. We were watching our 37" LCD FLM 373-B and it just shut off completely, no blue or red light for power on or anything. Has never come back on since. Had the TV for approx. 18 mths when his happened. I still have the TV in an extra room in our home thinking that maybe one day Polaroid might actually step up and do something???? ha ha. Went today and bought the two 35v capacitors and plan on trying to install tomorrow. Is this the right resolution to fix this TV? Please advise on any helpful info that you might have.

I bought the Polaroid 37 inch LCD HDTV and had the same problem - very loud buzzing noise and verticle lines... We had to unplug the TV and reset it multiple times before it would finally work - then eventually crapped out all together. TV repair shop said it would take $600 to fix it - not going to pay that for a $900 intial investment. Any suggestions?
When i turn my tv on there is a loud humming sound, also i have to unplug the tv several times before i am able to see a picture. I contacted the service dept for Polaroid several times and they refused to fix this tv for free. i paid $1400 for this tv and they refuse to replace their parts which are defective. if someone can help me i would greatly appreciate your help...
