Take a look at this post that deals with a HP nx6110 laptop with random freeze ups. See if the described symptoms also happen on your laptop. If you did experience random freezeups or slow DVD you're dealing with the same FSB chip problem. All peripherals, USB ports included, are connected on the Front Side Bus. Poor soldering causes intermittent contact which in turn results in hanging, slow, or totally non bootable (stuck at HP logo) laptop. Hope this helps.

My hp compaq nc6220 is not able to boot to the OS. What could be done to resolve it?

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

I am Ravichandran, using HP Compaq nx6100 Model Laptop. My laptop did't boot and not even entering into Bios. Only HP Invent Embalam will appear and press F10 Rom Setup. If I press F10, F9, F1 there is...

If you are unable to "F-10" at power up, try 1}. unplug your laptop from AC adapter.
2}. press and hold power button until the computer powers up and powers off.
3} remove battery.
4). press and hold power button 10 seconds then release, replace battery.
5}. power up and press F10

If you are still unable to access BIOS you will need to obtain a system restore disk from HP

My compaq laptop freezes after 30 minutes

It sounds like an overheating problem. When it is booted, does it run ok other than just being slow? Check your cooling fan and make sure it is running and not stopped up. That is a number one symtom of overheating is freezing and rebooting by itself. Have you expierenced that problem also? There is a free program called "Motherboard Monitor 5" that will monitor the temp for you and set off an alarm when it is getting to hot. Check that problem first. Hopes this helps!

Laptop boots to the F10 and F12

this is as if you haven't got an installed operating system and requires it to be installed, but you have to enable your cdrom as the first boot device. Put your O.S disc in and reboot; then press enter to boot up from disc.
