Favorite for bosch is the water inlet modual which monitors the water flow in could be faulty, If incorrect pulses take place the motor wont proceed. Otherwise listen for a hum after water stops filling. If there is a hum, the main wash pump is jambed and has to be sorted out.

Sounds like a plugged drain pipe to me. Remove the dishwasher drain pipe under your sink and attach a wet dry vac to the drain pipe, then see if you can evacuate your dishwasher using the vac. Make sure all the drain screens are clean and start the dishwasher discharging into a pail, if this works clean the plumbing drain under the sink
Is it possible the drain pump is running because the machine won't stop filling? Does the drain pump start running when machine start filling or doe it come on when machine is about full?
Make sure your drain hose to the drain pipe is higher than the water in the tub if not it will keep running and going out the drain.
Also try taking the hose off the level switch and blow in it to be sure it's not stoped up. If is it won't let the level sw cut off. air should go through it. Good luck
When you unpluged the power and it ddn't keep runing the water valve should be ok.
Hi
The E1error code indicates a water inlet error. To access test mode: press and hold Normal+Eco, and press Power. Release buttons. Then press Start(display n:01).Press Start again (display shows water level frequency-not important). Press Start again-(display n:03-motor will be running). Press Start again (display n:04-drain pump will run). Press Start again (display n:05-inlet valve will come on and machine should fill with water). You have now tested major components are working-if you keep pressing start you will scroll thru and test other functions, like heater, dispensor etc, but not needed for your fault. If Machine didn't fill with water in test mode, you probably have a faulty inlet valve (test resistence should be approx 3.7-4 k ohm). If inlet valve has tested OK ie machine filled with water in test mode then: Disconnect from power. Remove side panels (need to remove top, and bottom front panel to then be able to remove sides) - Check no water in base of machine-water in base will indicate machine has leaked and activated the safety device which shuts off inlet valve. - If OK, you probably have a faulty flow meter(measures water intake). Located left hand side of machine, large plastic compartment, which has a sensor at the bottom with 3 wires (red, white, black) that go up to control board. Replace entire flow meter assy-relatively inexpensive part. - If you still have problem, then control board is faulty, it is much more likely to be flow meter .

Hi,
It sounds as if the main program board has developed a fault - as it should come to a complete stop. The fact it kept the water valve open with the door open is a serious fault- so I would have it checked before using it again.
Most machines have a water-stop feature - so if it develops a leak - it will shut off the water. This clearly didn't happen.
sphion effect while the water comes in the water goes out ..because you never said that it overflows,,,so just put your drain hose up the height of the machine before it can go down,,,drain hose to low...onthejob
Depress start button till start light goes out. Close door, drain pump should run for a while. Wait for end of program, rer-try a new program start. This process is re-setting memory. If this fails to sort problem then start checking components, ie: fill valve water on? heaters open circuit/down to earth, drain pump, is it emptying, wash pump.
sometimes machines stop to heat the water. does your machine ever start again? if it does not start on its own, it could be a time issue, or a heater element issue. if it calls for heat and it never heats, it will never run. if it ever drains, then the issue is not the pump. its a logic board. good luck mark
Hi John I have the same problem, the manual says that it is because the water level is to low, this is checked by opening the door after the machine has stopped filling and before it starts to wash, the level should be 4mm above the main plastic filter ring, the level has two settings, these can be adjusted by pressing the start button and the On/Off button at the same time, release the start button and turn the control to economy 45,if the start light does not come on the level is set to normal, to increase level press the start button again and the light should come on, this will give you an increased filling time. it did no help me but it may help you.
good luck
