Check whether its cooling fan works or not. If there is any fault to the cooling fan, these symptoms you describes here can occur.

Unfortunately, the PJD5111 is indicating that the lamp has overheated. If you wait 45 minutes for the projector to cool down and these lights still come on, then the unit has an internal failure. The failure may be in the temperature sensor or that circuit. If the projector is still under warranty or on a maintenance plan, contact the dealer.

It is working through RCA & not through computer indicates the problem either in source switching or analogue to digital converter. Also check whether the horizontal & vertical sync reaches A/D converter.

Please note that the appropriate replacement bulb for Viewsonic PJD5111 should have the type number RLC-047.
