N Card is not saving any games

Hi Jack,

I bought a NDS lite with 1GB N Card as a birthday present to my 10 year old son. The N Card came preloaded with 50 games, however, since day one he is not able to resume to any saved games. He loves to play Brain age 1 & 2 but since N card is not resuming to saved game, every time he has to start his brain training from scratch which is extremely enjoying and frustrating.

Writing with lots of hope, please advice what all I can do to make his gaming experience pleasurable.

Thanks heaps.
Ash

What if i dont have an nintendo sd card

You must have atleast one thing. The original disc for Nds or a memory card otherwise the game will not be saved. Even you can not play any game due to no memory installed in Nds.

I bought a ra(ndsl/nds ) for my ds lite and

Mine works fine!!
Download English 1.18 from the R4 website.
Unzip
You should have 4 files on your card
_system_
moonshell
_DS_MENU_DAT
_DS_MSH_NDS
you then add the .nds game files from wherever you get them from
Make sure the card is formatted first, ie there are no other files on it. try FAT. rather than FAT 32. I can't remember which but I've had no problems with either the card or the software, best thing since sliced bread, and it only cost me a tenner.

My son got a NDSTT and played games on it for a week, now all it says is MENU? on the top screen of his DS - how do i fix it?

Hi,

What i would suggest is to take the micro sd card and delete the menu folder and the menutt.dat and anything else associated with the main menu settings. Drag and drop the games folder or games and saves to the desktop and then format the sd card in FAT32.

I appreciate this may seem a little extreme but i have had quite a lot of experience with NDS flash cartridges and the problem you describe usually happens when the menu.tt file becomes corrupt.

Once the sd card is formatted, re install all the nesessary software (you should have these 3 files on the sd card :
TTmenu folder
ttmenu.dat
ttmenu.sys
but, DO NOT put any games onto it until you have placed it into the nds and turned it on allowing the TTcard to build a menu for the games to be loaded from.

Hope this helps

Unable to read sd card

Hi grecko, Hope this helps, I've just bought a 4gb memory card for my daughter's ds so she can fit 58-60 games instead of 28 on a 2gb memory card and have downloaded and put a file onto the memory card before loading games onto it.

Supercard DS one have a site where you can download the files you need and it gives help. Guess it's the same if using an R4 supercard too but I bought an R4 card for partner preloaded with software.

Cant use ROM's in my NDS and R4

Hi Patrik,

I have had this problem with several R4 cards that i have mended for friends. Basicly what is happening is a file known as an ARM7 file is not being read properly.

There are a few ways around this problem.
  • You can download a NDS patcher/unpacker and unpack/repack the game that is giving you problems and replace the ARM7 file with one from a working game. (the unpacker will generally come with a working ARM7 file) i use one from GTA chinatown wars.

  • You can go to the torrent site and look for the game you are havong problems with and 9/10 you will find one saying 'R4 fix'

This is a link to a decent site that helps if you wanted to try it for yourself. http://cupevampe.blogspot.com/2007/12/how-to-patch-nintendo-ds-rom-tutorial.html

Good luck

Startup NDS lite tune

it still might be the speaker, most games are on the low sound spectrum, but the start up tone is a very high pitch, speaker might have a tiny hole in it.
