I have a WS-55511 projection tv. When I turn it on, it turns off in less than 4 seconds. I am getting a trouble code that repeats 10 times. 2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2. I get this by pushing and holding the menu and device buttons for 5 seconds. Worked great last night and this morning this problem. Looking for some possible problems/ fixes. Thanks.

2,2 is short protection and 98% chance one of the two pico fuses that protect the convergence circuit are blown.

Set uses a single convergence IC (STK 393-110) WHICH is about 14 dollars on EBAY.

I have photos of fuses, IC, and start to finish, step by step instruction for this repair.

Let me know, I would start by locating the two fuses and test them; I attach photo and they are on middle board.

    Hey SD Tech, you have another cust. can you send me the instructions as well? I already determined that 1 of those 2 fuses is blown. Can I by-pass it temporarily to check and see if thats the only issue? whatta ya think?

just send your board for repair to this guy on ebay,search on ebay for listing:230735864835.
don't buy those expensive repair kits or try to do it your self if don't know how to solder,you might damage board.

GET DIAGNOSTIC CODES
UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device"(input) and "menu" buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.


Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem


******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.


SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

Green status light flashes 11 times then stops then does it again.Tv doesnt turn on.
do me a favor, when set shuts off, press and hold menu and input buttons on front of set for five seconds and release both, light will blink a two digit error code, and repeat it several times, let me know error code and I will tell you what it means.

Turn tv on and turns off right away
Do the self check this model has: when power light comes on and then goes off: on front of set press and hold both the menu and input buttons at the same time and hold both for at least 5 seconds and release both.

WS-55511 shut itself down while watching TV and won't come back on again. I tried unplugging and reconnecting, it goes through the reset (green light blinking). The convergence went bad and the chip was...
After you turn on and green power light comes on and then goes out:

Press and hold both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it 4 more times.

TV won't come on...the times button blinks for a few seconds and then the tv turns off
DO THE SELF CHECK WHEN IT SHUTS OFF:

oN THE FRONT OF THE SET PRESS WHEN THE LIGHT GOES OUT BOTH THE MENU AND INPUT BUTTONS FOR 5 PLUS SECONDS AND RELEASE BOTH.

POWER LIGHT WILL BLINK A TWO DIGIT ERROR CODE---LIKE 2 BLINKS, 2 BLINKS A PAUSE AND THEN REPEAT FOR A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES.

LET ME KNOW ERROR CODE AND I WILL ASSIST YOU.

When you turn the tv on it go right back off Mitsubishi WS-55511 55 in. It about (5)yrs old I have try unplugging the tv for about 3 to 5 minute
Do this: When you turn it on and the green power light comes on and goes off:

On the front of the set press and hold BOTH the Menu and Input buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and then release both.

This model has a self check: The green power light will then blink a two digit error code: most common is 2 blinks, 2 blinks and a pause and repeat the error code at least 5 times.

Let me know what you find and I will tell you what it means.

I hope you get 2,2 as it is the most easy to resolve.

Have a Mitsubishi 55 rear projection WS55511
NEXT TIME IT SHUTS DOWN: when green light goes out on THE FRONT OF THE SET: press and hold BOTH the menu and input buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and then release.

This is the self check this model has---power light should blink a two digit code---for example--two blinks, a pause and two blinks and the set will repeat the error code about 10 times.

1 blink and then 2 blinks is NO ERROR DETECTED
2 blink and then 2 blinks is short protect

ETC.....Let me know if you get an error code and I will tell you what the problem is---hope you find 2,2 that is the most common and the most easy to repair.

Press in together the menu button and the Device/input button on the set and hold them both in together for 5 seconds and see if the led will blink a two digit error code, then respond to this same post and let me know if it gave a error code and what the two digits were.

Help my ws-55511 can anyone help me with this.

Changing caps on DM board is good prevent maintenance,

 but does not represent the solution...DM caps symptom is

 Continuos blinking light.
