Clock display (KDC-139) ... demonstration. KDC-139. Display. Setting Setting overview. Source. "CLCK". Refer to page 11 ... you have to start over from step 4.
That model doesn't have a "loudness" feature. You can see it on the display because the same display board is used for more than one Kenwood head unit, and other models that use the same display have that feature.
This is one solution for which the part cost needs to be confirmed from Kenwood. So it is better that you can refer to the service center who had done the work some time ago to give an estimate on the cost. If the fault is a self failure you can ask for some compensation as it has repeated.
Also the LCD pane specific to this model is available only from Kenwood.
It might be. Normally protect turns on when you have something wrong. A power wire goin in the ground or polarity of the speakers (+/- wires) are crossed or especially if 2 speaker wires are touching. If not hooking up the 2 green speaker wires for example, dont twist them together. seperate all non used wires
If you mean that the rotating cover has flipped back round covering up the control panel turn on the ignition and push the top left of the panel. this should make the cover flip back around and make the interface available.
Here's the quote from the manual regarding "dcer": "The speaker wire has a short-circuit or touches the chassis of the vehicle and then the protection function is activated. Wire or insulate the speaker cable properly and press the reset button. If the "PROTECT/DCER" code does not disappear, consult your nearest service center "
I believe the manual can be downloaded from crutchfield .com after you go to the Kenwood KDC-138 page on their website. The reset button is either on the lower left of the face or, removing the face, on the lower left of the body. Hope this helps you.
