Hi,

Here is a tip that I wrote about the Paslode nailers and the problems that can come up with them.

I also have a link to the Paslode manuals which contain Paslode cleaning and troubleshooting guides.

If you need parts for your Paslode, there also is a link for a site that sells the Paslode nailer parts.

The driver on my Stanley 18 ga. finish nailer( SB- 1664FN ) is not retracting sufficiently ( or at all )to cycle another nail forward. I have tried to keep the gun lubricated. I have gently pushed the...

Remove the 4 screws and pull cap off .careful not to rip the gasket and pay attention to how the head valve sits. Pull driver out to make sure its not bent . If its fine put driver back in place. Remove the head valve from cap . Replace the oring around the head valve part # 180535 . If thats not a option take a thin strip of teflon tape and wrap in around head valve once then put old oring over it. Grease or oil , put cap back on and test fire. Should be good to go . Best of luck !

I have a paslode airless framer that wont fire. New batterry & fuel cell. It make the noise but wont fire

Hello harderconstr, I have that nail gun myself, and when it's working good it is a great tool to have.
Here are a few suggestions.
1. Remove the battery, make sure that you don't have a nail jammed in the the firing chamber, that has happened to mine before.

2. Adjust the depth tension on the end of the gun. You should have an alen wrench to loosen the adjuster at the tip. Slide the adjuster away from the gun, ( out ) as far as it will go and then tighten it back down. Reinstall the battery and try it again. You can re-adjust the tension after you see if this helps the problem. The adjuster on my gun was worn and I needed to adjust the tension to get it firing again.
3. I also got a new battery for my gun, and what I found was I really had to slide the battery in pretty hard to get it to click in place. Also, when you hold the gun in your right hand, the thumb side of the handle should have a very small LED light, red means it's not ready to fire, green means it is ready to fire. Make sure you have a green light.
I hope this helps you my friend!

My paslode impulse framing nailer quit working. It fired and the fan shut of prematurely then it would not fire and the fand would not run. The blinking green LED light in the handle is blinking green...

It sounds like the contacts in the plunger are dirty or bad. Or even a wire for the contacts is loose. My guess is when you took it apart to clean it and replace the Orings you had moved the loose connection so it worked for a minute. On mine, I went all through the gun only to discover the wire feeding through the gas chamber was squished and broken inside. The wire's plastic insulation did not even have a hole in it. If you take it apart again check the wires carefully, check the contact points to make sure they are clean as well.
Another note, my father had issues with his and we went through it with a fine tooth comb. In the end we discovered it was a dirty contact in the gun where his battery hit. The battery itself was fine but once we cleaned the batteries terminals with a pencil eraser and plugged it into the gun we noticed one of the contacts had black stuff on it from the contact inside the gun. Works great every since.

Bostitch nail gun loss of pressure, won't fire nail

Hello. I can help you. The nail gun you have uses 18 gauge brads. I would use only original Bostitch 18 gauge.

The one MM of difference you mention is the reason why you do not have the pressure you did have. Get rid of those 31MM brads and get the 18 gauge. Home Depot carries the Bostitch line. I would go there or to homedepot.com
