It seems the Basic Input Output System (BIOS) settings have been changed on this computer.
This type of error message occurs when the computer is trying to seek a network device to boot from, or is set to boot from a removable disc or other media that have bootable files stored on them that the BIOS requires prompting or selection for in order to proceed to the boot stage.
First check that there is no disc in the Optical (CD/DVD) Drive -> if there is remove it -> restart the computer by pressing and holding down the Control (Ctrl) and Alternate Value (Alt) keys 2 fingers of your left hand -> press the Delete (Del) key with your right hand -> release all 3 keys -> tap either the Del or the Function 2 (F2) key 2-3 times as the first white writing appears on the black background of the screen after powering up -> the (Power On Self Test (POST) procedure will then redirect to BIOS Settings (often referred to as Setup) -> use the keyboard arrows to navigate to Set Default Values -> press the F10 key -> press y for yes or Enter for OK -> test the boot process again.
If the computer still does not boot properly repeat the above steps to enter the BIOS Settings/Setup again -> use the keyboard arrows to navigate to Boot Menu -> arrow down to Boot Device Order -> look at the BIOSControl Options at the bottom or side of the window to find the appropriate control keys for changing the order of the boot devices (often the + and - keys, the F5 and F6 keys, the Page Up [PgUp] or Page Down [PgDn] keys -> move/promote the Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the First Boot Device position -> press F10 -> y for yes or press Enter for OK -> test the boot process again.
This behavior can occur because of damaged random access memory (RAM) modules or a damaged RAM slot.
To resolve this issue, use one or more of the following methods, as necessary:
Remove one or more of the RAM modules in your computer, leaving at least the minimum amount of RAM required for Windows XP installation. If this resolves the issue, either replace these modules with new RAM modules or reinsert them after Setup is completed.
NOTE: Verify that your computer's performance is not affected when you reinsert the old RAM modules.
-or-
Install the RAM modules into different (unused) RAM slots in your computer.
-or-
If you still experience problems before or after Setup, replace all of your computer's RAM modules with new RAM modules.
I get a - acpiec.sys unexpected error (1024) at (5064) in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup.c. - when attemping to reinstall winXP my Dell XP software for my Dell 9100 the drive has been cleaned and only on partition all the drive test passed is their a hidden partition that I can not get to but I am not showing any partitions except one I created ?
You might have a bad version of the text mode driver for it.You can make your own slipstreamed XP install CD with my brief instructions to include SATA drivers so that there is no need for F6.

try installing from another copy. It sounds like the file is corrupt. Get a CD from someone, but use your own product key (this is not illegal, as you are using the product key you bought) Try installing it. It ought to work now!
This generally indicates that the disc is corrupt. It can be anything from a scratch, degraded read section on the disc, or a distortion from the disc getting bent or hot (left in direct sunlight). You will most likely have to use a different disc for the install.
