I have a Woods freezer model F15NAS it only seems to freeze on the lower part and ice forms on the bottom. I was told parts were no longer available for this. Any suggestions?

Ice forming bottom of freezer ev250nxtq

Try removing the strap holding the drain hose underneath that drains into the pan. Otherwise it acts like a p-trap and holds water that then insulates the upper part of the tube. Condensate water eventually freezes high up in the tube and backs up everything pushing the condensate water into the bottom of the freezer where it freezes into sheets. Leaving the drain hose down keeps air in the tube all the way back up into the freezer area. This seems to keep the condensate water flowing freely into the bottom pan. The air in the open condensate tube does not seem to have an ill affects. Also, you can add some stranded bare copper wire around the heating element just above the drain tube inlet and then push the tail off the copper wire down into the drain tube hole. This helps keep any water in liquid form flowing down the drain pipe.

I have a woods chest style deep freeze and the lid is very cold on the outside, but the sides are room temperature and the freezer works fine. Why is the lid cold and how can I fix it

Yes, the freezer temperature means the lid gets very cold. Every time you open it some moisture condenses in the lid and the outside ambient also affects it. The insulation may be beginning to break down and the ice is forming inside. It is not a major problem however and many freezers go on for years with freezing lids!

Water appearing on the bottom

More than likely you have a clogged drain. This occurs when the machine goes into defrost and the melted ice somehow is prevented from draining and therefor refreezing and blocking the drain for the next defrost cycle. The best way to resolve this is to unplug the machine for atleast 24-48 hours to let all ice melt. Also note on the maytags these days they put a rubber piece called a duck bill on the bottom half of the drain which will also cause this over time. To access this piece you'll have to pull the machine from the wall and remove the lower panel and find the plastic drain and remove the duck bill

Ice collects on the bottom of my frost free woods freezer

im not sure if i answered this one before. but this sounds like a blocked drain, the drain is located midway behind the shelves, you can take away the catch tray and poke a coat hanger down this hole hole to dislodge the blockage.
