How to add memory to Toshiba Satellite M110s3094. I know there are 3 or 4 slots but I only see the one with the current memory and I want to add to the existing memory

First of all you need to know the limitation of your the Laptop from its specifications. Know the right type of memory and maximum capacity of your laptop. For your case, I've researched and you may have 2GB maximum on your laptop with 1GB maximum each slot of type DDR2 PC2-5300. Then follow the below instruction.

· Power your laptop down and remove the power cord.Remove the battery.

· Ground yourself using an ESD wrist strap or other method to prevent damage to your computer chips from static electricity.

· Locate the Memory Access door. You'll find this in the detailed specs for your computer retrieved from the Toshiba support site. In most cases, it will be on the underside of your laptop, but some Toshiba models place the RAM under the keyboard.

· Unscrew the screw for the Memory Access door. Place the screw in a small container to avoid losing it. Remove door.

· Remove the memory SODIMMs that you are replacing by gently pressing apart the latches at either end of the module. The RAM module will pop up to a 45 degree angle. Pull it from the slot at that angle.

· Align the new memory module in the slot, matching the notched edge of the RAM with the notch in the slot. Gently push it into place at a 45 degree angle. You won't be able to see the gold pins when it is fully in the slot.

· Gently rotate the module downward until you feel it click into place as the side clips catch the chip.

· Replace the memory access door and screws.

· Replace the battery.

· Power up the computer and check to be sure that the new memory is recognized.

I have an Everex StepNote SA2052T that came with 1GB of memory. can I add another memory stick of 2GB for a total of 3GB. If so, how do I install the second stick and where?

http://couponsdealsfree.com/coupons-everex-stepnote-sa2052t-refurbished-laptop-pc-1604/

According to the specs of this laptop is 1GB Max. So you can't use a 2GB. Also it states that there is only 1 slot for memory. Which means you can not add another stick of memory, you can only add 1 stick to it.

To add you turn the notebook upside down and start to unscrew. look for the 'memory' section. However doing this would be pointless.

If your experiencing slow processing, try to remove programs that you don't use anymore. Make sure some programs don't 'start-up' while your computer is loading.

WARNING*** you are responsible for your own actions
Go to: START > type msconfig > click the 'Startup' tab > Check for unused programs running (example: msn messenger, Uncheck the box; if you don't know that program then don't uncheck it) After your done, click OK and Restart your notebook.

For future information:
  • If you are going to add memory, make sure it is the same type (example: pc5300 on old chip and new chip) otherwise you will burn out the memory.
  • Always check online for your laptop/notebook specs before doing adjustments, otherwise you risk chances of burning out the notebook and or devices your trying to add into it.
  • If you can afford it, buy a new notebook/laptop.

Good luck, and rate my advice.

I would like to add memory to my acer 5315 notebook. I have taken the panel off the back, but I don't know where to put the new RAM in. I can only find how to replace memory, not to add more.

The ram location is right where you are looking. There are two memory slots available for ram. They are staggered one on top of the other. Release the side pins and the module will pop up at a 45 degree angle . Pull the module out in the direction and replace at that angle, then push the module down in place. You may only have one memory slot filled at this time, Therefore there would be an empty slot to fill.

I have 512 mg of memory. Would there be a big difference if I add a 1 gb stick and keep the 512 mb , as oppose to removing the 512 mb and replace with two 1 gb sticks?

The performance of your laptop will improve if similar memory is placed in each of memory slot.If 1gb memory and 512mb memory are placed in available slot you will only get the performance of a single 1gb memory.but two 1gb memory are used performance will be similar to a 2gb ram or more.

First, you would need the manual for that Acer 9301awsmi to fine out if the laptop can take 3 or 4gbs.
Second, see how many slots does the laptop have. This way you will how to place then. Like 2x2g or 1gb and 2gb,.etc.

Memory problem

you may have purchased a memory stick that requires more speed than your memory block can give. the speed for this lap top should be around 455-500 MHz on the memory block. if the memory stick requires more than that, its not going to work.

I need to know how much memory I can add to my PC?

Your machine's max memory is 2GB. It takes several flavors of ram so here is a link that lists the types of memory you can use in your machine.

Note: I don't necessarily endorse or recommend the seller's link I've included, it's simply for illustrative purposes.
