Go to your local marina and buy a simple on off switch or take the wires off the switch on your grinder and hook them up to a extension cord and put an inline light switch on the cord.

I purchased a Wilton 6 in grinder, model 17203. It spins in a counter clockwise direction. Is this normal? In other words the wheel is turning down on the material being worked. Thanks Jim Price

Counter-clockwise as viewed from which end? The correct direction as viewed from the right end would be counter-clockwise. As viewed from the left end it would be clockwise. In other words, when using the grinder from the front, the surface of both wheels should be going down. If this is not the direction it turns, take it back. Good luck, Al K

Cant get a on off switch anywhere co that maid it for wilton is out of business what a scam.

Repair parts have always been a problem.

See if you can get into the electrical area ... open the bench grinder from underneath ... tie the switch wires together ... put a regular wall switch on the electric line.

I hope it works for you.

The motor just sits there and buzzes, when there isn't any electicity bearings turn freely

There is a short internally in the motor. IMO not worth repairing, new bench grinders are pretty inexpensive.

Need an on/off switch for a buffalo bench grinder model B-6CB 1/2 hp. 41/2 amp. serial #775713

I had the same problem with a Northern Tools bench grinder. These are made in China and parts are hard to come by. I had enough room after removing the old broken on/off switch to install a single pole 15 amp light switch like you use in your home. I simply installed it horizontally and then put the switch cover on. It works perfectly. If you do not have enough room then look for any 15 amp or larger switch that will fit in the housing. Any on/off switch will work. You could even mount the switch on the bench in a switch housing and run the wires from the grinder to the switch and back if need be. Just be safe and make sure there are no exposed wires. As a last resort you could remove the switch connect the wires, eliminating the switch and use a plug in wall switch such as this. 4147a14.png

Grinder starts and stops on startup

if this is a cap start motor and not a centrifugal start run motor then bad cap is good place to start
