Most likely this set has bad convergence ic's and some open resistors. This is a common problem for projection tv's. Check:
resistors RK42, RK46,
RK50, RK54, RK58, RK62
Output STKs IK04, IK05.

This is a convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors.Shops usually charge from $200-$300

The convergence ICs and resistors are the most likely things to cause that. You can get the convergence repair kit for the DP14G hitachi( 53UXX10B) at the following link which contains the parts and instructions.

Solution:
Your TV has a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms.

Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in but stationary.
Here is a quick test....
Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence or magic focus section
Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.
You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.
If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.
You can get a repair kit that includes all the parts from www.TvRepairKits.com.
They have put together a kit for the Hitachi TV sets.
The kit includes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc.
Everything you need to fix it yourself. Its a fairly easy fix on the Hitachi sets.

This might also be called digital array. You might have to do the manual adjustment with the cross hairs on the screen. These, one red, one blue, one green, should all align on top of each other in a white color. If this does not work, you should call 1-800-448-2244 for assistance in finding a local service center.

Can anyone give me the resistor values for location RK 42, RK 46 and RK 62? Hitachi 46F500 TV. Or can I be pointed to the location of a service manual?

One of your convergence output IC's has burned out and needs to be replaced.

get a shop manual,it tells how to do the whole convergence process and how to store it to the rom memory to save it.
