Need To Install pioneer ts-g950m speaker in my car

I have 2 pioneer ts-g950m speakers that i need to install in my 1995 buick riviera (rear speakers). I have removed the old ones but there seems to be a clamp from the rear wiring that is needed to hookup to the speaker, should i cut the clamp and attatch them to the speaker with electric tape? im not exactly sure what to do! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!

I did this with mine, hook more wire to the wire that holds the clamp , then solder it or wrap it around the terminals on the speakers

New Radio too powerful for 15 Watt speakers?

Hello mike_mccuske,

The OEM speakers will still work OK with your new Pioneer. Just don't turn it up too loud. Of course you'll get improved sound if you replace the speakers. Your Pioneer's RMS power is 14 watts, and the peak (maximum) power is 50 watts. The door speakers in a 2000 Honda Civic are 6.5" and you can get a set of Pioneer speakers, the TS-G1642R's, from Crutchfield for less than $50. Their RMS power range is 2-30 watts and they can handle a peak power of up to 180 watts.

Hope this helps.

Rear deck speaker install

I'm assuming that you have left the original wiring intact? If this is the case then it's a pretty simple thing to do. There should only be 2 cables one for each speaker & each cable will have a positive & negative polarity. Once you have securely fixed the speakers into place (usually screwing into place through the mounting holes provided) you just need to attach the wires to the speakers. If your car has manufacturers plugs on & don't match the speaker ones (quite often the case now) simply cut them off & replace with spade connectors of the right type/size. The most important thing is to get the polarity the same way round for both speakers! If you get them reversed you will NOT get any bass. Also remember with any new speakers they need time to run in & sound their best....so take it easy with the volume control for the first 20hrs or so of play if you want them to sound great & last longer!
