Generally you can clear the ventilate error by pressing the button for Hot Water and then opening the steam knob. You should hear the pump run and water should start to flow from the steam wand. If it doesn't, try removing the frother nozzle so just the chrome pipe is showing.

To remove the frother nozzle you slide the outer sleeve off, and then grip the nozzle with one hand while twisting the cap to loosen it. Then it should slide off the metal steam pipe. Or you can check that the tip of the nozzle isn't clogged.

If you have the frother removed and the steam pipe is definitely open and not clogged and you still hear the pump running but no water is coming out, the next step is to prime the pump.

If you still have the squeeze bulb pump that came with the machine, you can use that - or if you don't have it, a turkey baster will work. You want to take the water tank off and set it aside, then pump water into the valve in the center where the tank had been sitting. You choose "Hot Water" and open the steam valve so the pump starts and then pump water into that valve with the Turkey Baster. You should hear the pump catch and start to move the water - when this happens immediately close the steam valve so the pump stops - then replace the water tank (filled with water please) and open the steam valve again and let water run out of the steam wand for several seconds.

That should clear the ventilate message.

Machine seems to have lost its pumping power, water/coffee still comes out but only in a trickle. Got the machine for two and a half years.

Do you de-scale your machine regularly? Is your water hard, ours is here and if we don't clean it regularly(with vinegar or a de-scaling agent) it has the problem you are describing. Let me know?

The descale light keeps blinking, what should I do?

The 'Descale' light that turns on indicates that it is time to de-scale the machine.
Scale - or mineral deposits- form from the water you run through your Keurig coffee machine. If not cleaned regularly, the buildup can clog the lines in your machine and ruin the heating element. The manufacturer recommends you descale Keurig coffee makers once every six months for normal water conditions and once every three months if you live in an area with hard water.
You will need :
  • Keurig coffee maker
  • 48 oz. white distilled vinegar
  • Water
  • Large ceramic cup
  • Sink

Instructions :
  • 1 Unplug the coffee machine and remove the cup.
  • 2 Turn the coffee machine upside down over the sink in order to fully drain it of water. Be careful of the plug and avoid getting it wet.
  • 3 Pour undiluted white vinegar into the reservoir up to the top edge of the viewing window.
  • 4 Place a ceramic cup under the machine, plug it in and press "Brew" for a large cup. Pour the cups of vinegar into the sink and repeat the process until the reservoir is empty.
  • 5 Remove the final cup of vinegar and empty it. Fill the coffee maker with clean water and allow it to sit for four hours, remaining on.
  • Good luck ;)

    What does de-scale mean?

De-scaling refers to removing mineral deposits that build up over time. These minerals are found in regular tap water with higher concentrations in areas with hard water. Run a mixture of 1 cup white vinegar to 1 quart water through the machine followed by 2 or 3 cycles of clean water to clear any buildup. If the buildup is heavy you may need to use a cleaning product designed for cleaning coffee brewers.

Does not brew coffee consistencty, water does not always flow from res tank...even if water flows down from tank the machine will make the heat noise show brew ready and when u push the button it either...

Sorry to read about your issue.

The brewer should be de-scaled at least every 3-6 months. Scale is harmless, but if left unattended, it can hinder optimal brewer performance. De-scaling your brewer regularly helps maintain the heating element, removable water reservoir and other parts of the brewer that come in contact with water. Better water quality and water heating means a better cup of coffee, tea, hot cocoa or iced beverage. We recommend de-scaling your brewer at least every 6 months (every 3 months if your water has a high mineral content). The de-scaling process involves using 48 ounces of undiluted white vinegar.

Take 48 oz of white vinegar. place in tank. pretend you are making coffee (Do No Use K Cup). let the water fill you mug. then empty that mug. Do it again until tank is empty. then let sit for 4 hours.
Then fill with fresh water to the top. let that tank of water run thru. towards the end taste the water.
If you taste vinegar..use more clean water, until the taste is ok.

We only use filtered water in our machine and were wondering if we still have to de-scale it as often as it requests. We have been told that it works on a certain amount of coffees and then requests a...

    Hi
Yes you should descale on a regular basis. All water except distilled and RO water have some minerals in it, just some waters have more than you want. Distilled and RO water has their draw backs like the are on the acid side and can disolve the metal parts of your boiler. They don't taste as good as most water. Water that taste sweet has calcium that needs to be removed, this is why we descale on a regular basis. You can set you machine to tell you when you need to descale and it will also descale for you, so you don't have to stand in front of it while it does so. I prefer to set my water hardness to the max.(4) all lights lite on a Palazzo to prevent what I have seen where a Palazzo was so plugged with scale no water would go through it. These are great machines if you take a little care. Descaling is all I do to mine. I lubed my brew group when I first got it. and just rinse it twice a year.

    The machine says ventilate

You can turn the water knob and let it pour out some hot water from steam wand. If your machine does not have any problem with scale the the masage ventilate will go away and work normal again.
