Can someone tell me how to set the tax rate on a Sharp EL-2192RII and a Sharp EL-2192P. It would be really nice to be abel to use these calculators to their full capacity. Thanks
Solution #1 has it backward..
(tax rate), STR, TAX+ (or TAX-)
Example- San Francisco sales tax = 9.5%
you enter
9.5, STR, TAX+.
now it functions as (amount entered) plus tax.
Example- find the total with tax for a purchase of $14.99
14.99, TAX+
Calculator will show 16.41

Easy. Press M- key [has RATE SET] above it. This will shown your current setting say 17.5. Amend to 20.0 and Press M- key again. Rate should now be set at 20%.
Test by entering:

100 and pressing -TAX Key - Answer should be 83.33
I Finally figured it out after playing with it for almost 1/2 an hour!
Hit 2nd then Tax + (rate set) it will appear as 0.000 enter your tax rate... mine is 5% so I enter 5.0 then hit 2nd and Tax + (rate set again) And it will work!
It is glorious!!!

First clear all w/ ON/AC. Enter the tax rate desired eg. 7 for 7% (can you tell I'm in PA) Press RATE then TAX+ Press C/CE. The next time you use TAX+ it will calculate and add the value that you set. Do the same for TAX-, you can use a different value for each as they are separate memories.
