It is unlikely that you have a bad motherboard. In installing and replacing hundreds of motherboards over the years, I've never seen lack of audio as a symptom of a bad motherboard. It is most likely either a driver or a configuration issue. Here are the steps I would take in troubleshooting the lack of audio on your system -

First of all, ensure that you've downloaded and installed the correct audio drivers for your operating system -

GA G41M Combo rev 1 3 Motherboard GIGABYTE

Once you have the proper Audio Drivers installed (and any other drivers you may need for the motherboard from the Gigabyte website), you need to ensure your audio mixer controls are working properly.

Click on the speaker icon in your system tray, then raise the volume level. When you click on the volume level slider itself, you should hear a "ding" sound each time you click on it.

If no sound is heard, click on "Mixer" below the volume level slider.
raise the levels of each item that shows, and unmute anything that is muted. Click on the volume control slider and you should hear a tone.

As far as recording goes, you didn't mention what software program you are using to record with, so I can't help you there. However, if you right click on the speaker icon in the system tray, you can select Recording Devices.

Ensure no recording devices are muted, and raise the levels of any devices that show there.

At this point, you should have sound at least coming through the speakers / headphones. If the microphone volume is too soft, you can enable microphone boost by doing the following -

Click on the start button.
Click on Control Panel
Click on "Harware and Sound"
Under "Sound", click on "manage audio devices"
Select the "Recording" tab, then click on Microphone.
Click on "properties" button in the lower right side of screen.
Click on "Custom" tab, and check "Microphone boost".
Click the OK buttons to accept the changes and close the screen

SOURCE: free drivers for compaq presario SG3133IL (OS :win xp)

If you've gone back from Vista to XP, you might have a little problem. Laptops going from Vista to XP usually work about 50% of the time (due to driver issues). Desktops, I'd say probably about 80% of the time. I have the web address for drivers for your computer, but it only shows they're for Vista. You can still try though. Click here. Hope this helps!

Teac A 6010 reel to reel while recording my voice it echos my voice

You may be listening off tape and there is a lag of time between the record head and the play head which is what you may be concerned with. This is normal for any three head deck be it cassette or open reel.
Slowing the speed will lengthen the time of the delay and speeding it up will shorten it.

I have a Samsung T406 cell phone. How do I record a new greeting message?

That usually has to do with the cell phone provider's voice mail, not the cell phone.
Call your voice mail. Instead of listening to messages listen to all the menus.
You'll want something like "setup" "record new outgoing message" or things like that. Usually you can listen and choose to save or do a new recording. You might need to press star (*) or pound (#) buttons to save or cancel the recordings - or maybe numbers 1 or 2.

Have amp only 2 months & clean channel is muddy. it was clean when i bought it. its somewhere in between clean & drive

Test if the sound is clean using the headphone jack.

IF IT IS CLEAN in the phones, you have probablydamaged the speakers with excessive volume causing the voice coils to rub the pole pieces due to heating. If you can reach the cone either front or back GENTLY push on the cone and listen for ANY rubbing noise.

There are also electronic component problems that can cause this IF the headphone test is also muddy sound.
