Hello,
I am attempting to install a linksys router model number WTR54GX4 with SRX. I am connecting the router to a digital broadband modem supplied by mediacom cable. I want the installtion to be wireless as well as hard wire network on 2 of the ports of the router. I am not at all sure of the proper configuration for this router. Do I select DCHP because I am connected to cable? If so, once I select that the next thing is the password which I am just reentering admin, is that correct if I do not wish to change the password? Then I am naming the router in the SSID. After all of this I save to file the necessary login data. Once the installation is complete I can not get connected to the internet via wireless, however I can hook up to port number one on the router and I can access the net. PLEASE HELP ME
Booba,
With your question about the internet type you are right to set it to DHCP. And For the password you are also right. Now for the ssid that will be the name that your router will be broadcasting. If you can get your computer online through port no.1 on the router that only means that the router is already configured properly for internet connection. Now since the wireless is not working its possible that its not connected yet to the wireless network that you have set up where you were running the setup cd. Do you know how to view the available networks on your wireless computer? If you kindly provide me with the operating system of your computer that will go wireless on your network and also the model no. or the brand of the wireless adapter on it.
