When I turn on my Mitsubishi vs-50609 the power light comes on then you hear the tv station sound for only a second without the picture showing and it stays on for only a second before turning off. It does this every time and I am unable to watch TV.
Good day, carriegomez;
If still have problem try this or at least you will have an idea of what's wrong:
This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)
I hope this was helpful, big IRISH.
Hello carriegomez,
I gave this advice to someone with this same problem so here it is again:
It sounds like your shutdown circuit is being activated. This is due to excess current being drawn. This usually happens in the High Voltage section of the TV or one of the deflection stages. Due to the nature of this problem I would suggest that you take it to a local TV repair shop or have a TV repair person come out and take a look at the issue. The HV section is dangerous and should be dealt with by a qualified TV repair technician.
Thank you,
I hope this helps
