With a VM Transfer button. Assuming you have a Panasonic brand VM and the access code is 500, you program one of the 24 buttons to dial 94500 (the sequence PROGRAM button 94500 STORE). Now, when you're on a call, press the VMT button and dial or press the extension DSS and hang up.

Voice mail not working

The Voice Mail system provides the voice mail service based on the existing network. When a call is transferred to the VM system, the system asks the calling party to leave a message for the called party when the called party is busy, powered off, or out of the service area. It provides voice mail, call prompt, and voice short message and email. By adopting VM service, operators' system put-through rate, service usage rate, customer satisfaction, and revenue can be improved.

Callers are not getting transferred to voice mail when I can't answer my blackberry pearl 8100

This might happen's because the voice mail number in you're Handheld might be wrong, Please check with that.
If the number is correct you your call will be transfered to voice mail, If the voice mail number is wrong then you need to contact you're service provider.
To find the voice mail number follow the step's:-
1) Go to call log.
2) Press menu key.
3) Select Option's
4) Select voice mail.
I hope I was able to help you today.
Thank you for using Fixya.

CAN'T TRANFER CALLERS TO VOICE MAIL

A Panasonic system and Pana branded voice mail has a VM Transfer key that lets you send a caller to voice mail. It's programmed by picking a button down the left side of the keystrip (CO) and pressing PROG, the button, 94+ the VM extension, and STORE. (In a TA-824 system it would be either 107 or 115).

The TRANSFER button would work if the extension has CF set (All Call or Busy/NoAnswer), but there would be a delay. At the very least, when you tried yours, you were either dialing the VM extension which is probably not vailid because it won't let you transfer to yourself, or an invalid extension.

I CAN'T TRANSFER CALLERS TO MY VOICE MAIL. I PRESS THE "TRANSFER" BOTTOM AND MY EXT BUT SCREEN SAYS "NOT VALID"

Most phone systems will not let you transfer to voice mail if you are on the extension that you want the voice mail to go to, which is the reason for the "Not Valid" message.

The logic is, if your talking to them on the phone, why would you want them to leave a message on your voice mail. Your talking to them directly already.

Need more rings

You have to change the rings from the voice mail server. If you don't know your way around the server, its best to get a local NEC tech although it is fairly simple to navigate. Depends on your skill. Typical default password for the server is NEC

It rings 20 times before voice mail comes on and they can leave a msg.

You are asking questions about your Toshiba phone system and the voice mail system attached. You could have one of several different Toshiba phone systems and several different voice mails.

The system has timers for things like "No answer transfer timer" and also rules for what it does at that point. (transfer to voice mail box, transfer to voice mail branch, transfer to the operator.. etc..) It can get very complicated. Most likely you are just dealing with the no answer transfer timer for your specific phone port but even just changing that can be very complicated. Many Toshiba phone systems need to be programmed from a computer using specific software. If you do not have someone in the company that knows how to make simple changes to the phone system you would need to get a phone system installation company to make the changes. Hopefully you know the company that installed the system??

Call will not Transfer to Voice Mail

Typically you want your phone system to ring your phones (say extension 10, 11 and 15) and then if no one answers after so many rings the call is transfered to the port the voice mail is on (let's say it's port 16) The voice mail is set to answer right away but does not "ring" until the call is transfered to it. This way (at 4 rings) if a call comes in on line 1 and you answer after 3 rings but a call comes in on line 2 at the same time, the first ring on line 2 will not make the total = 4 and set off the voice mail. I would guess the port at your voice mail is not set to ring and nothing is set up to transfer calls to your voice mail. Did you set this up yourself? How did you program the phone system?
