I'm experiencing a loud buzzing (fan?) sound that just started recently while watching my HLP5674W. The picture is fine, but the sound of what may be a fan or something like that is very loud and will only stop after the set has been turned off for a few seconds. I've turned the TV on and off several times and the buzzing comes back each time. Any idea what this is and how to fix it? Thanks!

Loud sound would be coming from defective color wheel that is mounted i light engine, next to lamp housing. Replacement of color wheel is required expertise/ experience and professional will do that for you in correct and in safe manner.
Contact local tv repair shop to get color wheel replaced in tv.

I have a SAMSUNG HLP5674W and it has begun to make a Loud buzzing/humming noise from the rear of the tv... It sort of sounds like a fan and when i listen closely, that area is exactly where the noise is...

pull the light assembly out clean it with a vacuum and some pressurized air spray and place it back in the TV, while it is out check the fans on either the inside or in the removable assembly for damage or other interference in operation...If this doent help dissemble/remove the rear of the enclosure ( 6-10 screws) and clean the insides carefully and then turn the tv on - being careful not to be touching ANYthing and see if you locate the culprit.....

Buzz sound from Toshiba model 72HM195

Mine is doing the same thing. I think its the cooling fan. The bearing is probably gone.

Our Mitsubishi WD52525 52" is making a loud buzzing sound. could this be a fan not functioning? We do not have a picture, but have recently replaced the bulb.

This sounds to me like it could be the color wheel or the ballast of the unit. The bulb is always the first step, but it depends on what kind of buzzing you're hearing. The ballast will usually click to ignite the lamp, while it may also buzz when it's not functioning. The color wheel will also buzz if it gets stuck, or rattle when pieces inside are broken.

Loud Buzzing Sound

Sounds like the cooling fan blades are hitting something (possible worn bearings).
