oL is an Overload error. Try running a cycle empty.
If oL (overloaded) appears in display, the load too large. If an overload is detected, the washer will drain any water and detergent in the washer. Remove several items and add HE detergent. Close lid and press START/PAUSE.
if it makes a grinding sound when in spin this is the tub seals or bearing and basically you'll have to replace the washer.very common with this ge washer, not one of ge's best product, also why it stops mid cycle could be anything, this washer has a computer board biult on top of the motor that also failed,if your having all these issues i think that washer sold for like 500 dollars,it would cost more just to repair it,i wouldn't put 5 cents into it,do yourself a favor and get a new washer.
If the washer is stopped mid cycle it will default to rinse and spin. It will then get stuck in a loop. It is necessary to reset the electronics. Unplug the electrical cord from the unit. Wait 30 seconds. Turn the cycle selector all the way around clockwise. Turn it again and set it on any setting accept rinse or spin. Plug the unit in. It should begin a new cycle and be working normally.
Clear the ERROR from the screen: Press and hold the MY CYCLES and BACK buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The control will display any recorded errors. Please write down what error codes are shown on your screen in case service is needed. If a MORE icon is displayed on the screen, press MORE to list additional errors. When the EXIT button appears, press EXIT.
Remove Power: Follow the onscreen instructions to remove power (unplug unit) and then immediately plug unit back in.
Clear Setup Mode: After power is restored, a setup screen that begins with "Congratulations..." will be shown. DO NOT PRESS the OK button shown at the bottom of the screen. Press the START/STOP and POWER buttons simultaneously until the Home Screen is displayed. Your unit is ready to function normally.
For the machine to keep filling it would indicate that there is a siphoning problem. Check the outlet hose is not running along the ground, it has to rise up then loop back down or the water will just run straight down the drain. If the problem only happens after the first pump out it would indicate the end of the outlet hose is lower than the drum or there is no air break around the outlet hose. (The stand pipe should be larger in diameter than the hose from the machine).
