Not opening java based application - Computers & Internet

First go to your control panel under the start menu and find the Java application. Once open, go to the update tab and click the 'Update Now' button.

After the update is complete, go back to the control panel under the start menu and open the 'Add or Remove Programs' application. Sort the list alphabetically if it is not already and check your java installations. If there is more than one version installed, remove all versions except the newest version.

Next, after checking java installations, go back to the 'Java' application in the control panel under the start menu. On the 'General' tab, click the 'Settings...' button. Click the 'Delete Files' button and confirm the deletion of 'Application and Applets' and 'Trace and Log Files'.

Lastly, in whichever browser you are using, clear all temporary internet files and cookies and close all windows for the browser. Once the browser is restarted, retest your issue.

This fixes most issues that I have run into using Java based applications.

Hi,its obvious from your problem that the applications you are trying to access on your phone are of a formatnot supported by your phone,only java based applications are supported by the w580i because it's a java enabled phone,other application formats won't run on the phone.
However,you can get java appllications for your phone at www.getjar.com all for free.

This phone's native browser is capable of accessing only the WAP sites. But you can seamlessly browse other internet websites by using a small java based opera mini browser. From your mobile go to http://mini.opera.com and download the opera mini java application to your mobile and install it. Then open the opera browser to surf other websites. For this your mobile should support java applications.

After un-installing some files remain on the phone, delete these file manually including Opera, and any themes that are animated.
You'll find them in File manager and Applications manager. Some junk you installed is not compatible with the N95
