No sound I inherited this TV and had dish network out for satellite hookup. There is no sound coming from the speakers but the picture is fine. Help! The sound on the TV no longer works. Plugged the 3 monitor ports A/V into my surround sound video 3. It worked fine for a year now no sound comes out of the surround sound or tv when watching tv/DISH. Video is fine. Note: The other audio ports work fine for my dvd and vcr on that tv. Tried swapping video and audio ports as well as cables. Everything tested fine. The problem seems to point to the L and R audio ports on my monitor feed on the back of the tv. Strange thing is that it worked for 5 minutes yesterday but after turning it off for a minute and turning it back on, the audio again quit. Please help.

This might be configuration problem. Some TV Audio and AUX Ports we have to manually select from remote. Please check the configuration settings or else please refer the TV manual for Audio settings.
Hope soon you will rectify the problem.,
Bye...

Check in your audio settings and make sure that the external speakers are OFF.
If they are OFF, is more likely a defective audio amplifier IC that will need to be replace or you could also have a loose connection in the speakers wiring inside the TV.

Do you have any other audio-out ports, like S/PDIF or TOSLINK?

I am trying to hookup a Samsung tv to my dish network where I previously had a Sony hookup and I'm getting a "no cable connected" notice on the tv screen

Hook up your Dish receiver to HDMI 1 port on your TV. Press the input button on your TV remote to change the input to HDMI 1 and you should get a picture on your TV.

I would check the cabling coming from your receiver to the TV. If the cabling is connected firmly try replacing it.

Unhooked all lines in back of tv cant remember to rehook up have2

granmabj,

There are common connections to each receiver but there are unique connections also depending on the receiver. Solo receivers have a coax cable coming from the Dish outside connected to Satellite In. Duo receivers and DVR HD receivers have the coax cable that comes from the dish outside that connects to Satellite 1 and Satellite 2 using a splitter. There is also a cable (coax, RCA (yellow, white, red) or component (green, blue, red - video, white, red - audio) or an HDMI if HD) connected from the receiver to the TV 1. For a duo receiver TV 2 may be backfed on the cable coming from the dish outside using diplexers. This may sound confusing but you can call 1-800-333-3474 for assistance.

Satellite Receiver to Yamaha Receiver

It sounds like either on the 612 or the Yamaha Receiver that the HDMI port is faulty, thus causing the flashing picture. It sounds like the 612 to the TV works fine. I would recommend replacing the Yamaha, and if problem persists then try replacing the 612.

No sound

Look in the menus for a setting to turn the speakers on and off. Make sure there isn't a switch on the back to turn off the internal speakers.

HD Hookup on Dish Network 2nd Location

In order for you to receive HD broadcasting you must have a HD-TV, otherwise you wont get the picture in HD. Also I should point out that you need to make sure that the signal itself is being broadcast in HD.

Lost my picture when went to pip

Check your PIP source. I couldnt figure out my LCD pip, and why it wasnt working either until I was able to switch the source. It was automatically using a source that didnt have anything hooked up to, I had to switch mine in order for it to work. Try that and see if that might be the case. let me know. thanks!
