look and see if the part that stubs out the wick upon turning it off is stuck up or not dis engaging properly. if stuck up the over heating would shut it down!.
Check the fuel filter and the fuel strainer. The strainer is located on the right side of the heater at the bottom. It is on the side of the fuel sump with 2 screws holding the cover on. Turn off the valve at the oil barrel before removing the strainer and have some rags ready to catch the fuel that will come out. You may also have an air bubble in the line. Use the small screw on top of the filter to vent the filter. You can also place a bowl under the line where it connects to the back of the heater and loosen the line so you can get the kerosene flow started. Hope this helps.
Not a lot of details to go on. Does the pump make a loud ticking sound? That would mean it isn't getting any fuel to it and you would need to check your filter and the strainer in the fuel sump. You may need to check your igniter also. If it isn't working the heater will not light and kerosene will be building up in the burner everytime you try to light it. If you have a clamp on ammeter you can clamp around 1 of the igniter wires and should get 2 - 4 amps when you turn the heater on. If this doesn't help you can email me a [email protected].
Does it smell like raw kerosene or exhaust. If it smells like kerosene it sounds like you may have a fuel leak. If you can remove the grill, look inside and check for any kerosene in the bottom and in the tray under the heater. You should also check your fuel line for leaks. If it smells like exhaust look inside and on back of the heater for any black soot marks. There are a couple of o-rings, 1 in the exhaust connection in back of the heater and 1 in the flue pipe where the exhaust from the heater connects. There's also several gaskets in the combustion chamber that could be leaking. Hope this helps. If you need any more info, you can send me an email ([email protected]).
