If I understand correctly, you have a pull-start generator.

The rope to the pull-start broke.

This happened to us out on the job one day.

Our equipment might be different than yours. Our pull-start assembly is held with 4 bolts. Simply remover those bolts and lift off the cover ... carefully. The rope is attached to something I will call a pulley. The rope wraps around the pulley several times.

Do not lift out the pulley that the rope attaches to >> or the spring that re-winds the rope will come un-sprung (at least it did on our machine). If the spring comes unwound, then you got another job, and have to put the spring back also. Your machine might be different.

Keep pulley in place. Remove rope. Get another rope with same diameter and length and put it in.

5500 watt generator will not run my 2hp air compressor

5500 watt generator will meet the 1491.4 watt requirement of the 2 hp compressor motor
given that 5500 watts generator is rated continuously at around 4500 watts and will handle spikes to the 5500 watts when electrical components start there should be plenty left
consider the possibility or a motor below full capacity, carby problem ( jets blocked , water, blocked air filter not getting full throttle from the governor lever, worn rings, type of fuel in use --E mix)

I have a Briggs & Stratton 5500 watts generator that I hardly pull the rope for start, begins stuck then its loosen again and again gets too hard to pull, any suggestions please help

If the unit is older it could have heavy carbon in the cylinder heads, it could be a ring sticking and binding, do a compression test. Compression is high or mechanical binding.

Honeywell 337cc generator 5500 will not start

Try squirting starter fluid and see if the engine tries to start. If it does, then focus on the carburetor. If you're sure the source of the trouble is ignition related, check for good continuity on the coil wires to the other end. If it's a stator operated coil, check all connections from the coil to the stator and make sure you have good clean connections and ground.

We have a Valsi 5500 watt generator that isn't putting enough voltage out to run everything in out small travel trailer. It runs the lights but doesnt push out enough voltage to carry the A/C, microwave,...

How long have you had this generator?
Has the generator worked on all of these loads before?
Model 5500 is a 5500 Watt generator which could easily be 5500 watts (Peak) and not continuous.

Your AC is an inductive load.
Your lights are resistive loads

An inductive load can cause issues when starting due to an increased current demand at start up that some generators cringe under. Do the lights flicker or are they stable? I'd say your diodes on your stator are working if you have light stability but you haven't provided nearly enough information for a detailed solution.

I'm sure you have enough voltage but you aren't getting enough current to run specific loads. How many watts is your AC? How many watts for your microwave? Both of these units demand a great deal of energy to run and when you place too much demand on your generator, it will choke it out and eventually, will cause damage to the generator. You may consider getting a beefier generator with a greater amount of wattage output.

Seeing these specs online and noting what you are trying to run, you have an undersized generator and need to get one that can produce a greater amount of running wattage (as well as peak wattage).
