Kenmore microwave I purchased a Kenmore microwave from Sears in Oct 2007--it is over the range and always made a vibrating sound but worked. In December 2007 it stopped heating--makes all the appropriate microwave noises and all displays are on but food is cold. Sears replaced it with a new Kenmore--same model and it worked until last night when same problem occurred--makes all appropriate "microwave sounds" and display panel on and eveything else works but does not heat. What could be the problem--I want it replaced but do not want same model??????

Youcan see that turntable at the down side there is a screw which is missing because i m also having a same problem but now once you change that screw which is losse it will work

chances are your magnatron quit on you and you may be better off getting a new one.

I went on-line and found a site that gave answers to similar problems. I found that no power to the the control board usually meant a transformer issue. I checked the leads on the transformer (with a meeter) and found that it was shot. Now I need a replacement transformer, at a reasonable price, or else I will purchase a new Microwave.

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

You can usually find exploded views and order parts by entering your model number at the Sears parts site.

A full Sears/Kenmore model number has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as ###.########
