I installed a Moen Sage toilet paper holder. The right cover that attaches to the wall hardware via a small screw is loose and no amount of tightening corrects the problem. What am I doing wrong?

It is likely that the the mounting post on the wall has pulled loose.

You will need to remove the paper holder and inspect themounting posts; loosen the set screws in the base of the posts to do this.

Try tightening the screws holding the mounting posts to the wall. If the screws are unable to hold tight you will need to replace the wall anchors if they have been used.

Remove the mounting posts and the wall anchors and replace with new wall anchor, preferably a toggle anchor designed for sheetrock if possible.

With the wall anchors in place attach the mounting posts and install the paper holder; tightening the set screws in at the base of the posts.

Moen dn8408ch fell off the wall post. How do I reattach?

There should be a set screw on the bottom. Position the holder on the mounting plate and re tighten screw. It takes a pretty small flat head screwdriver. Here is the pdf format manual for this holder.

How do you get the mounting bracket apart from actual holder piece? My holder pulled out from the wall

The technical specifications and installation instruction for your product are available here.

At the base of each post; likey facing down to the floor there should be a small square hole. You will need to insert a small flat screwdriver to release the locking tabs to allow the mount to come free from the mounting post.

You will then likely need to remove the mounting posts from the wall; install new wall anchors (suggest you use toggle mounts designed for sheetrock) and then reattach the mounting posts and then the mounts with the paper holder in place.

Is it the connection to the wall that is loose?

At the bottom of the post; facing down to the floor; there should be a square hole which will provide access to the locking tab. Use a small screwdriver to release the locking tab to release the post from the mounting post.

To tighten the mountng post to the wall; besides just tightening the screw; you will likely have to replace the wall anchor. After going to this trouble suggest you use a suitable toggle model rather than a plastic plug that be more secure and long-lasting.

After replacing the wall anchor, reassemble.

HOw do I remove the moen toilet paper holder from the wall

Without looking it up, I can figure it has a tiny screw on the flange bottom, and when it is loosened, it will come off, then the holder, keeper, is screwed to the wall. If it is not held on by a little screw, setscrew, then try turning the whole thing off, it might be threaded. Hope this helps.

My Moen shower valve didn't come with any installation instructions. do you use the plastic piece that is attached to the valve or is it just to protect the valve for shipping? it is only attached with one...

it is used for keeping the valve from coming thru the big hole when you tighten up the main cover,...it's to go on the back of the shower wall,..you don't have to use it if your valve is secured enough via pipe clamps and/or the like. good luck

there is no set screw or allen key for this. It is mounted in the anchor bolt by use of a mounting screen, pressed in until it clicks and difficult to remove
