I have a self winding bobbin on my singer model number 4663 and I don't know how to pick up my bobbin thread.

isn't this info in the manual? If you don't have one call singer and purchase one because it's not in the download area. And a search for the model 4663 brings up nothing.

How do I tighten the lower thread on my 5710 Husqvarna please?

you need to change the needle to a ball point,, but check your
manual to see what needle it recommends
if you don't have a manual let me know & I'll check to see if I can
find one for you
adjust the top thread tension--if the bobbin thread is loose, then
tighten the top thread tension one number or letter at a time higher,
if the bobbin thread is tight,, loosen the top tension one number or
letter less..
take the bobbin out & reput it back into the bobbin case--make sure it's
turned the right way

Thread bunches up under material

What you're getting is called a bird's nest, and it's a frustrating pain. There can be a number of problems. First, try changing your needle. It may look fine, but it could be ever so slightly bent and causing a problem. If this doesn't work, take the fabric out of your machine. You'll need to manually turn the machine's wheel and watch through the window at your bobbin. Is the thread hanging up on something in the bobbin area when you're turning the wheel and creating a mess of thread in the bobbin area? Look at where it's catching in your bobbin. You may have a cracked bobbin case-this you can get a replacement for online. Look on eBay for your machine model. They're fairly easy to replace and I can help you with that. If the thread is catching on something else in the bobbin case, be VERY CAREFUL poking around! Don't be forceful with anything!
You could also have a tension problem with you're upper tension. You may be working with really thick fabric, too. It's a little hard, because I don't know what else is going on. Try some of this, though, and leave me comments. I check back daily and leave me some more details if these things don't help or if you need to replace the bobbin case and need more help. I'll get back to you within 24 hours normally.

What size bobbin do I need for my singer 2517? I need more and I don't know what size to get.

Try checking the manual. If you don't have one, go to http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html where you can download one for free. It should tell you what bobbin you need in there. I know both of my Singers tell me the type of bobbin I need for each of them in their manuals.

If You have a drop in bobbin you will have to remove the hook and adjust the tension, however try adjusting the top tension before you remove the hook.

Kenmore Model 385.16231300

I discovered the same problem. What I figured out (after having the machine "repaired" several times) is that it seems as if the bobbin type may be the suspect. I started looking closely and it seems as if I have 2 different types of bobbins. So, I tried both types. Since I don't know the bobbin number(s), you will have to put up with my description .... the bobbin that is flat, top & bottom, seems to bunch up. The bobbin "bounces" when I sew. The bobbins that are rounded on the top and bottom don't seem to "bounce" and it doesn't bunch up the lower thread. Now, I have read my manual front to back and it does not say what bobbin type or number to use. So, if anyone knows, it would be a great help. I am assuming the correct bobbin is the "class 66" bobbin. Does anyone know for sure?
