Kenmore 9114554590 will not bake or broil

When bake or broil is pressed on the keypad the clock flashes and does not allow you to input a temperature. The clock just flashes once each time you try to press either the bake or broil keys. No error code is displayed. When this first started happening it would let you input a temperature but it stopped the bake cycle after several seconds and it now has digressed to only flashing. All the other function on the computer unit and stove top burners are working. Thanks for any help you can offer!

The clock/display panel is faulty. There are a few relays on the display that have to work. If the clock is just flashing once with each keypress the the relays are not functioning. The clock/diplay will need to be replaced

F2 Temperature runaway detected (Bake/Broil: 600 - 700 F; Clean: 930 - 1000 degrees F). Sounds alarm and resets to non-cook mode. Check relay board for stuck contacts. Check oven temperature sensor for normal room temperature resistance (1085-1097 ohms at 75 degrees F). Check sensor wiring connectors for a loose or high resistance connection. Check electronic range control (also called clock or ERC) functions Replace relay board if necessary. Replace oven temperature sensor if other components check normal. If failure repeats, replace electronic range control (also called clock or ERC)

My Kenmore Elite oven will take over an hour to preheat to 350 degrees and never does get done preheating.

There's a few things that can cause this.

1. Check to see if the both that Bake and Broil elements (burners) are heating up. Check the Broil element in Broil mode.

- during pre-heat the Broil element gets cycled on and off for short time durations to speed up the heating. If the Bake element is not working, then the oven will heat, but very slowly and never reach high temperature.

2. If the elements are both working, then it's possible that you have a bad temperature sensor.

- this is a temperature dependent resistance device that should measure 1080 ohms at 70 deg F (room temp).

3. If #1 and #2 are ok, then the problem is with your oven clock/control unit. We rebuild these at fixyourboard.com.

Oven flashes F2 and beeps in the middle of baking or broiling something. Our oven is all electric and recently whenever we start to broil or bake something, after a little while it will shut off and the...

HI. an F-2 during a baking cycle is the result of an out of control oven temp that has reached Temperatures above 615F-630F

If this actual over temperature condition occurred, Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC).

If no over temperature condition occurred, Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective.

Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit , not actual oven temperature.

Digital Control (for oven temp and clock adjustment) not working

Puzzeled, usually when there is a stuck or shorted keypad there will be an error code. First let's see if we can tell if we are in Centigrade or Ferenhiet. Press the bake and broil button together for 2 or 3 seconds. SF should appear in the display. Press the broil pad again and C or F will be displayed. Toggle to F and press start. See if that was the problem. If not try to increase the speed of the + and - keypads. Press bake and broil together for 2 seconds until SF displays. Press the + keypad increase the speed of the control. It should toggle from 1 to 5, 5 being the fastest. Press start and see if that works. If niether works..then have someone remove the keypad ribbon cable from the control board and clean the ends with an eraser. See if that solves the issue...Catriver..post back and let me know.
