After the camera's battery died while trying to load video onto imovie, the video suddenly has huge horizontal lines across it. How can I fix it?

This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

this old PC has CCFL lamps and most are dead now, for just that reason. 2008 PC>? 2 year before first PC had LED back lamps. not photo of your screen messing up, so no ACCURATE ANSWERS possible. this line is it 1 pixel tall? or huge line, huge is dead CCFL tube. line 1 pixel or so is bad LCD. there you go me pretending to see your screen. this PC is trash, it is not worth fixing for sure. try the VGA jack on the rear to a real modern 2010 or newer monitor if that works use that. till the hDD dies. next.

How do you get videos from a cannon elura 85 onto iMovie?

Use wall power, not battery power. Set camera to Play (not PC Connect)

Open iMovie, wait a minute or so for import screen. If it does not come up, click the camcorder button.

Unrecognizable pictures with little color and horizontal lines

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Cant import vids onto imovies on mac from image mixer 3

Mac's camera editing only goes as far as iMovie. Importing more footage is almost impossible. You may be able to find a few back routes though. Hope that helps.

If your video files are compatilbe with imovie, like mp4, mov, dv, etc. it's easy to import video to imovie.

Bad quality at capturing from nv gs15 with imovie

You can try VideoStudio version 9, I use this for all my video capture and the quality is perfect but you have to have a huge capacity hard disc if you want a very exceptional video quality. By the way, my sister gave me a camera like yours just last month but she lost the CD, just want to have a favor.... if you could send me a full copy of the CD for the NV GS 15. my email address is [email protected]. Import into imovies

convert your video to mp4, mov, or dv with imovie converter, and then import them to imovie for editing.

Pink or grey horizontal lines on video download or viewing

I have the same issue and have for over a year (haven't had the time to send it to Canon for a few weeks to analyze, but have cleaned it numerous times). But I can tell you that the problem is internittent and the recordings are fine. Eventually, don't know the remedy, but it will suddenly stop doing that and I can download fine, and watch on camera fine. When it does happen, I just keep recording. It never shows up permanently. I re-tyr downloading or viewing and about the 3rd or 3th time (let it sit for a few hours between) it is normal!

Strong red tint with horizontal lines across screen

if you have warrenty, return it. if not, then buya new one...the video fuses are dying...hard to fix it.
