Installing Canon EOS on WinXp

I don't suggest you to install OS on your laptop, because N5010 is not designed for XP, and you may have problems.

Those 5 minutes are (1) WinXP trying (and failing) to locate the driver for your Canoscan flatbed scanner, or (2) WinXP perceives that your installation of the flatbed scanner driver failed, and
WinXP is performing a (5 minute long) System Restore to correct the problem.

The Fix to both problems: download (free) updated driver from www.canon.com

Reformat the disk and reinstall XP. Be aware there may not be XP drivers for your model.

Make sure you pick the right driver for the operating system you use. For eg if you are using WinXP pick the "Windows XP" from the list over the right hand side of the window. This will then only offer you the drivers etc that are applicable to WinXP. I think the file you need is the MP Navigator one, as the others shown are for web printing or photo printing. If you just need the printer driver I would download the "My Printer" and the MP Navigator" files. Once you have downloaded them to your computer (remembering of course where you saved them) double click the files in turn and let them install. If you are using something other than WinXP, make sure you select the right system when you start at the above web-link. Any problems, just ask.

yes you can install winxp if you have winxp bootable disk.
Boot your computer with winxp disk.
For that insert winxp disk into cd or dvd rom then when you power up press F8 or F5 or F12 to get first boot option then set first boot as your cd or dvd rom then you can boot computer with disk.

If your are installing Realtek drivers in winXP then leave it and install windows VISTA for few days then reinstall win XP again and try to install sound drivers again. May It would work on your PC like it worked on my own PC..

I don't know how to do to help you, - 2 solutions:

1. go here and specify if you pc is a F3Sc - F3Se - F3Sv and download the drivers. ( don't use driver detect, that will cost you....)

2. Reinstall, to WinXP, with that you get a computer leaving the table, with the speed you get on XP, but that's up to you. XP Drivers here:

- again, choos your model, and then your OS ie WinXP, - they are all there, - go on you asus.

Personally, I would not hesitate to install XP, but don't mind me, I have been working (full time as an adminisrator) with Server2003 and WinXP for years.

it is impossible to install win 98 after installing xp,if you want to install win98 you must remove the winxp and then first install win98 and later you can install winxp,
basically it is impossible to install a lower order software when xp is already installed,in your case it is the same
there will be no things like dual boot or anything ,after booting your system asks whether you want to work with win98 or winxp.
