two things probably 1 the "flex" cable connecting the phone's lcd unit to the main board is broken or ripped or even slightly twisted more than it shud have been
or 2 the lcd unit as whole is bad with a minor problem(inclusive of problems to connector joints)
what u cud do at this point is send it a service center... unless u want to open the device which i would say is a pure risk u d be taking... claim any warranty if needs be...

this problem persists in most of the slide phones that the blank screen appears when we open the slide... go to the mobile shop and update your mobile phone software or try the latest firmware version this problem is over come by only this method

your flex cable is either bad or going bad...you need to have it replaced at a qualified phone repair shop.or your screen might be going...my first guess would be the flex cable
