Last night the power indication light (the blue light that normally goes off when the power is turned on) would go off when the power was turned on. It wouldn't come back on unless the reset switch was used or the set was unplugged and plugged back in. This morning the power indication light will NOT go off when I try to turn the TV on. It will only go off if I unplug the set or turn off the reset switch on the back of the TV....Does that extra info help? -Ondi

How do i get my tv off standby mode?

To get your TV off standby mode, you can try the following steps:
Check the power source: Make sure that your TV is properly plugged into a working power outlet or surge protector.
Check the remote control: Press the power button on the remote control. Sometimes, the TV may be in standby mode due to a problem with the remote control. If the remote control is not working, try replacing the batteries or using a different remote.
Check the power button on the TV: If the TV does not turn on with the remote control, try pressing the power button on the TV itself.
Unplug and plug back in: Unplug the TV from the power source for at least 30 seconds and then plug it back in. This can reset the TV and may help to get it out of standby mode.
Check for a timer: Some TVs have a timer function that automatically puts the TV in standby mode after a certain amount of time. Check the TV settings to see if this feature is enabled.
If none of the above steps work, there may be an issue with the TV's hardware or software. In this case, it may be best to contact the manufacturer or a professional repair service for assistance.

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. HDMI inputs not working

Find the manual for your TV. Find how to reset the TV. There may have been a power surge that is not letting the HDMI ports work. A hard reset should work. If you can't find how to do this, unplugging it, and waiting a minute, then plugging back in could be an easy fix.

What your describing is symptoms of a power surge, Many LCD Tv's are sensative to Slight fluctuation in power during rain, thunder and lightning storms, i myself was happily watching Tv through such a storm at one time, and when i went to bed the TV would not respond remotely or manually, i also disconnected the power from the wall waited for the ready light to disolve and try to turn on, unfortunatley the damage was done, a Tv Repair was nessecary and since then i now use a belkin power surge protector board for my TV and appliances......one question to you is i would guarantee you do not use a surge protection my friend......and your set will need a Tv Repair, it is not major as what is neccesary is a firmware dump on the internal memory and replace the BIOS Battery as well.

The remote will not turn on the Bose System intermitently.Need to turn the power off for TV & Bose unit & then back on for it to work.

If your system is plugged into a surge protecter, the Bose service guy told me that sometimes the Bose system detects a surge and automatically shuts down. Unplug the system for 5 minutes and then plug back in. This works because it happened to my system. I called Bose and this is what I was told. It worked!

32 '' CRT won't turn on afer power surge

Follow these steps to troubleshoot the television not turning on:

Make sure the AC power cord is connected securely to a working wall outlet.
NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, unplug it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

Press the POWER button on the television.
Press the POWER button on the remote control that was supplied with the television.
NOTE: If the television turns on and off using the POWER button on the television but does not respond to the POWER button on the remote control, troubleshoot the remote control.

Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet for 30 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into a known working electrical outlet.
Attempt to turn on the television.
IMPORTANT for the following models only:

KDF-E42A10
KDF-E50A10
KDL-V26XBR1
KDL-V32XBR1
KDL-V40XBR1
Unplugging the above television models from the electrical outlet may only be a temporary fix. The problem may reoccur after several months of use. To completely resolve the issue, a software update is available.

For all other models, service will be required if the troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue.
